You've obviously never spent any time on the CO forum. The level of knee-jerk defense over the smallest of things is absolutely insane. Even if both games draw on the same source for inspiration - dual pistols, for example - I guarantee there will be backlash malestrom on the CO forum tearing into CoX for ripping off their pet game. It's hilariously paranoid and that's even without going into the ridiculous level of "CO = COX DEATH" remarks that were hanging around a few months ago.

In his original post the U was lower case, so acheived wthout shift, unless shift was used to unshift capslock... Besides, I take the phrase "no u!" to indicate that he has no U key at all - and the key tends to be used regardless of case.

Of course, he may have copied and pasted his U from another post... I'm waiting to see if he makes a 'no Ctrl-V' post at anytime.

Actually that may be debatable - as all things are if you like a debate.

AFAIK defence tends to be used more in British English, whereas I tend to notice defense more in US english. And it happens that I'm English but was referring to an American sitcom referring to an American courtcase...

Having said that, legal uses of english sometimes use specific spellings and I'm not even sure whether the 'accepted' spelling in British courts is defence or defense.

Of course defence and defense are synonyms in both US and British English, so I would still be perfectly correct in using 'defence' if the original Southpark script used that spelling.

You act like his isn't true for every community ever. It's a fact of life. If you can point to it and laugh, then more power to you, but I wish I could point to, say, the rising sun, state its rising nature and feel fulfilled in having done so. I've tried that before, but it just isn't as satisfying as it could be.
