Population?
as per globals, i just checked the pinnacle forums, and apparently you should check out pinnbadges, they may be the channel you need.

But in general if you like teaming I would suggest spreading yourself across the servers, especially if you like TF/SFs.
I wish I remembered how to get to pocket D. lol, sound so amateur from someone who played since launch...lol

The GvsE pack was a good buy for that reason alone.

Question, just out of misguided curiosity, does anyone still play the epic archetype, created a warshade recently and I must admit, of all the people I saw, including the looking for team searchbar which shows all who are online, didnt see any of them.

Coming soon (Issue 17 IIRC, but at least in GR at the latest), the EATs on both sides will be available after a player has a level 20 character in the appropriate faction. Yay! I will finally be able to play around with SoAs!

It's marked on the map in Kings Row, Talos Island & Founders Falls for heroes. I know the one in KR is in the back of a truck down the hill from Blue Shield, the Talos one is net to the Freedom Corps store in another storefront, and the FF one is under a bridge. I am assuming that it is also marked on the Villain maps (one is Port Oakes just up from the ferry from Mercy) - but since I also have the Good vs. Evil item pack, I just use my Pocket D VIP Pass to 'port directly to the Tiki Lounge.

Thanks for the info for pocket D, dunno if I'll go but if I need to, at least I know how

Datamining seems to show that the EATs are not as popular as the other ATs. For one thing, even today, there are lots of players who don't have a level 50 character to unlock them. I know I still don't have a level 50 villain, even though I started my highest level villain on CoV pre-start weekend.

they sound worse on paper..err computer screen, but I actually find night widows to be amazing. soldiers are nice too, particularly crab spiders, but dont be too thrown by their generic concept and weaker origin story, they play amazingly. and on a team with their stacking tactics powers, they become game breakers.

Last little question, since I have gathered more information on this thread then anywhere else for that matter lol.
I play on Freedom, back in the days, freedom used to be the" large pop" server, now I heard it is the "PvP Server" So what are the unofficial title of servers nowadays and which would be considered with the largest Pop?
"Also noticed a lot fo team invite in Freedom Rogue Island compared to none in Paragon City, is there a lack of villains in Freedom?"
AFAIK, Freedom's still generally regarded as the largest population, although I think Virtue is generally right on its heels.
Welcome home
There's the start of a new endgame system coming in the Going Rogue expansion, so that might be something you want to take a look at
If you prepurchase it right now, you'll get instant access to the new duel pistols power set, and then access to the new demon summoning MM power set later in April.

. . .I'm surprised you haven't been heavily flamed, as that's the usual forum response to this question. Maybe it's early and your thread hasn't been discovered yet.

- OP came in and was courteous.
- Said he is fond of CoX.
- Mentioned it seemed quieter and wondered why.
- and was just looking for more input.
- We all were glad to help.
You were confusing that type of question with the people who come in declaring DOOOM!, and predicting CoX death!
They say:
"No one is on!
CoX is DOOM'd, dying!!!!
I can't get a team!!!"
People who come in trolling and crying death and DOOOM!, get the same.
People who come asking friendly questions, and asking for advice ... get that.
WELCOME BACK, returnees!

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

I read over all the expansions/issues since I was out of the game. I like the way the game is evolving. I'll have to get used to watching the channels in-game. So much trolling in other games on chats that using one to find the action will take some getting used to. I'll take a look at the Pinnacle one first and give it a fair shake before I decide to look into what I've created on the Freedom server. I have toons everywhere, but I think my only two level 50s reside on Pinnacle.
Back in the day, I used to love to walk into impossible situations, with really poor groups and turn on my Defender skill to make a group win, no matter what architypes populating it. It may take some time for that to come back. I'm just happy to be back involved in a game that doesn't have serious issues in playability or interest with those who have stuck around.
I have to admit, I also came back from a 3 years long absence and noticed a massive drop in pop.

I agree with others who say the perceived drop in population can safely be attributed to the fact that there are tons more places for people to go and hang out and do missions and shop and craft and on and on and on.
We don't all just hang out in Atlas & P.I. anymore, we actually y'know...do stuff.
With twice as many places for players to go, the population in any one place is going to seem, well...less.
P.S. There's a running thread in the City Life section using available real-world facts and figures to try and determine actual population and population trends over the past few years.
And remember: The only way to guarantee you're always on a fun team is to form one yourself...
Here's how.
But 3 years ago, there was no Mission Architect, no Orobouros, no Midnighter's club, no Wentworths, no Universities, no Cimerora, nobody in the Hollows, or Faultline, fewer people in the RWZ, etc. etc.

I've been gone for over two years. I have always been fond of the game and came back to find it nearly empty no matter where I go. Is this because of Champions Online? I've played that recently too, but quite frankly found it hard to really "Make" the class I really wanted; a defender equal. The grind in Champions is also a tad boring for me. I love the instances in CoH/CoV; I just wish the end game had more well....population and PvP potential.
Anyway...I've been away, so I have a lot of catching up before I'm critical of much...but people who play...well that's just the biggest reason I liked CoH. |
Ok...ummm CoX? Is that the new term for CoH/CoV combined? I just started a new toon. Although I have two level 50s on Pinacle, I felt like an idiot to try and play them right away. I mean, if I did find a team they'd be pretty upset to find a lvl50 defender who had trouble remembering what key to press for simple replies.
I played when there were teleporters in the guilds/bases. I think I remember clubs around towns with teleportation capabilities too. However, that's about it for my knowledge. Global channels...hmm I'm guessing that's just the chat feature...perhaps a channel I need to join? I played Warhammer Online for a while; but it died about a year after open for me. What a dissapointment. Aion...well it just wasn't the grind I wanted. I played DAoC for many years; loved it. For some reason, the team play in this game and the foes; despite my loathing of those idiotic cave maps, is the only game I can tolerate PvE over PvP. Most people aren't jerks and the game seems to really have a nice balance for team building. I bought the rogue expansion and look forward in finding a good team to migrate into. I still feel like a total newb with all the new stuff in the system and the keyboard mapping I have long forgotten. |
kalicious obviously likes this game. A lot has happened in the more than 2 years that they've been gone. From what I've bolded, you can see that kalicious is eager to play and is excited about the community still being the awesome thing that held the game on their list of "come back to" games.
However, I would like to point out one glaring item... with tongue firmly in cheek.
This player is gone for over 2 years and the one thing they do remember is that they despise the Cave Maps? Now can we get these maps looked at again? Please?
Let me also add a welcome back. Now I didn't read all the responses so I may be repeating what others have said already but yes there is currently a dip in the number of people online. That doesn't mean they cancelled their subs tho. Please be aware that we are currently going thru I17 and Going Rogue closed betas back to back. There are people over there rather than on the live servers.
Last year they held a loyalty program and everyone that kept their accounts active from August thru November earned the privilage of getting an invite to Going Rogue beta testing. The Devs also told us that the people with over 60 months would also get in. That's a lot of people.
Also we are dealing with the recent release of Star Trek Online and people are still enjying the newness of that game. CoX players have formed the Paragon Fleet and the Arachnos Fleet and set up a private Cox channel for our players to communicate with each other.
We've also had a lot of changes to the game since ya'll have been gone. Some of which allow players to hide from RMT spammers. When you get a chance just type in /hide and take a look at how it can be customized to suit your needs. You can hide from searches yet still be seen by your friends. We also have an email filter that lets you block unwanted spam.
Super sidekicking makes it easier to form teams since one person can SK the entire team.
The AE has people in the AE buildings rather than standing around outside.
Level restrictions were taken off of most of the zones so players now have unrestricted access to almost every zone which again makes teaming a lot easier.
I'm sure you'll like the changes and be thrilled as the rest of us when we finally get to see what Going Rogue adds to the game.
Is there cross server instancing now? I mean...if my old turf; Pinacle is dead during my play time should I consider moving my level 50s to another server, or start over on another server? I assume that the whole reason behind Global Channels has got to do with playing in instances with people not on your own server?? Otherwise seems kind of pointless...unless their recruiting you to come to their server.
|
Example: You're playing on Triumph and you see in PinnBadges that a Statesman Task Force is forming on Pinnacle. You can then switch to a character on Pinnacle to run the TF, which you wouldn't have known about if not for the channel.
What are your usual playtimes? I play almost exclusively on Pinnacle and I'd be happy to team with your 50's and give you a chance to learn how to play them again. (I have several nearly indestructible characters, so if you slip up becaause you forgot something, it won't get me killed

My global is @Claws and Effect.
