He does seem like he's swatting a pesky fly rather than the crazy giant with the giant thorns bursting from his skin. A little too casual perhaps.

Still a great piece though.

yeah, it's really the mouth and maybe the nose more than anything else. ah well,. maybe colors will remedy the situation.

Eyes and brows look ok to me nose and mouth do not. The eyes and lips seem to be expressing different and incongruous emotions.

Yeah. did a quick revision on my own then passed it along. the lip outline is heavy, but when colors and some lighting are added, it'll probably work itself out.

I think it'll be ok. I agree about the mouth and the middle of the face is lacking in some definition but colors should definitely help. Still a great piece

I would just move the line that goes down his noes to the other side of his nose and erase some of the lip outline. Well, I'd make the mouth a bit more of a snarl and squint the eyes more, but that is personal preference. Floating noses and outlined lips are generally for women in comics. Although, he is Phillipino right? The outlined lips seem to make him look more like his ethnicity in the original picture.

Yeah, unfortunately given that these are inks, the stage to basically re-draw the face is past, so it's more on to tweaking/damage control so to speak.

Just thought I'd pop a progress piece on the 2 page action splash in the works, featuring Clockwork Cadaver and other player characters. (My apologies in advance for the posterizing).

The idea for the piece was a rooftop brawl between Bayani and a few allies up against Crey and the Clockwork Cadaver. I liked Starflier's concept for Clockwork Cadaver, and the idea of Crey trying to subdue the character with Bayani et al there to prevent Crey's efforts and take down for the PPD. I think the background needs to be shifted upward a bit so Bayani/Cadaver don't look like they're *that* high over the rooftop they came from, but I suppose story-wise you could say that Bayani is intercepting the Cadaver via a mid-air tackle or something.

I think I am really going to love this one, Bayani! I really love the figures position!

I was just wondering why a lot of Filipino comic book artists haven't gotten the attention they deserve. Either that, or they "subtly" work for the big labels. There are a lot of talented folk in my college alone.

Looks very promising. And no need to apologize for the 'posterizing'. The Clockwork Cadaver can take whatever you throw at him.

I recently got the rough pencils of the new illustration for the comic story "Community." I wasn't completely satisfied with the one Bob Layton/Sorsah did, so I decided to have it re-done. Guest-starring Planet Girl, Killer Whale, and Celtic Bolt, and had Bayani's sidekick, Mae-Day thrown in there just for the hell of it. There are a few revisions to be made, namely Bayani's logo is on the wrong side; Celtic Bolt's butt looks weird, and Planet Girl's foot/leg should be moved elsewhere so it doesn't look like it's resting on Mae-Day's head.

Very kool poster, Bayani!! I LoL'd when I saw PG steppin on your side kick! Who is going to colorize the poster?

Very very nice poster ... I like seeing familiar faces in group pieces.
