Pocket D Tiki Lounge change?

Any chance we could get the door to the Tiki Lounge recoded so that it works like the Base Teleporters? In other words, when you pop into Pocket D using the VIP teleport power, you can exit the door through which you entered to return to the zone from which you teleported.

Awesome idea!

Functionally impossible.

The reason you get shunted back to where you were when you exit a supergroup base is that it's an instanced map. Sure, multiple people can share that map without teaming, once it's open. But for all intents and purposes it's an instanced map. The game keeps track of where you enter an instanced map so it can return you to the same door you left the map on. This avoids players entering a mission in Salamanca and exiting it in Atlas Park.

This technology was applied to the Base Teleporter only because the Supergroup base is an Instanced map. It's why you can walk out to the same base-entrance you left instead of loading into one blue particle field and loading out in another zone. Again, Salamanca and Atlas Park.

However, the Pocket D is a zone-map or Static map. Multiple instances can be opened when the zone is considered "Full" but even when noone is in it the zone still exists in the server memory.

For this functionality to be applied the D would have to be turned into an instanced zone as opposed to a static one. And I can't imagine all the problems that could and probably would from trying to alter it so radically.

Though, still, I'd love to see it.

Couldn't they just make the Tiki lounge an instanced map and leave the dance club a... non-instanced map?

You wouldn't be able to go from the World map (using Pocket D Port) to the Tiki Lounge and into the D proper. On exiting the Tiki Lounge you'd go right back to where you were standing on the World Map.

Uh, yes you could. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to go from World map (using Base Teleport power) to the base and into Steel Canyon (via base teleport item).

Turn the door to Pocket D into a function similar to a base teleport item, and voila! Your worries are over.

However, this does mean there is an extra loading screen to use Pocket D as a travel hub.

That is a workaround I hadn't thought of... Though yes, it -does- cause the second loading screen issue.
