IO Set Bonus Question

I have a stone tank that is REALLY struggling with accuracy. Even though all attack powers have 2 SO Accuracy enhancements in them, it has become ultra frustrating. If I slot enhancements with accuracy set bonuses, what kind of cumulative number will I need to reach to affect a noticeable difference? 25%? 40%? 60%? Higher? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What level are you, and what level are you fighting? Two Acc SOs of at least even level should be plenty for most situations.

Also, open up your combat numbers monitor and check your last tohit chance to make sure that you're actually not hitting and it's not just perception playing tricks on you.

You might also look into getting ToHit Bonuses instead of Accuracy bonuses. Check out the Kismet: Accuracy IO and Tactics.

2 SOs should be enough for PvE. What are you fighting? That sort of frustration cries out "Spectral Daemon Lord!" to me.

I'm level 36. I really noticed a problem fighting lvl38 Circle Lt's. There were Spectral Demon Lords, but it was basically ALL Circle lvl38 Lt's.

There's the problem right there. All Spectrals (except Nerva Spectrals) have attacks that debuff your accuracy. Plus, they have high resistances to Smashing, Lethal and Negative, so if you're using one of those damage types for most of your damage, the misses suck, and the hits aren't terribly great.

If you're not doing it already, you might want to look at IOing out for set bonuses that help your accuracy. Crushing Impact for Melee Damage is a decent choice, Scirocco's Dervish or Obliteration for PBAOEs are also good choices. They'll give you bonuses to accuracy to all your attacks, across the board.

CoT can pose several problems to melee. First, the Spectral Lts use a power called Chill of the Night that debuffs your ToHit VERY heavily. Second, the Behemoths have Invincibility, which buffs their Defense considerably for each foe in melee range of them. And third, the Earth Thorn Casters can use Rock Armor, which buffs their Defense versus Smashing and Lethal attacks.

The first thing to do is turn down the difficulty so you aren't fighting +2s. Next, the best thing would be to find a Defense power that you use with a free slot for a Kismet +ToHit IO. That directly counters a portion of their Def/-ToHit. After that, slotting up Crushing Impacts would be very helpful as the 4th Set bonus is +7% Acc and the 5th is +5% Recharge - a very handy bonus for a Stone Tanker.

Doh! Kosmos beat me to it. :/

Another option: refuse to fight Circle of Thorns. I'll fight any enemy group over CoT.

Debuffed accuracy is my pet peeve.

Try this IOs: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Kismet:_Accuracy

It's relatively inexpensive and will help a lot more than accuracy will. Despite the name they actually boost your To Hit and To Hit and Accuracy stack multiplicatively so it'll be boosted by your existing accuracy bonuses. The downside is that it's a proc120 so to benefit you need to stick it in a Defense toggle or passive that you are using. This is a slight problem for Stone Armor since your defense toggles are incompatible with each ther. Since the proc lasts for 120seconds you'll need to switch toggles every two minutes to maintain the bonus.

EDIT: Also Focused Accuracy from the Energy Mastery APP has a nice helping of To-Hit debuff resistance. I use the Scrapper version for that more than the actual To Hit bonus.
