Multiple Wing Set

In many Animes the power lvl or specialness of a character can be measured by the number of wings they have. In CoX most get thier wings at lvl 20, unless they have the vet reward, so I say let us get a second set of wings at lvl 40, and finally a third set at lvl 50.

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about.

Anyone can get a set of wings at L1 on thier 1st costume slot if they have the vet reward OR craft the recipe.
At L20+, L30+ and L40+ they can get additional costume slots to have wings on that particular costume, and at any level (L1+!) they can turn in Halloween Salvage to unlock an additional costume slot, which can have wings or not.

Are you asking for multiple layers of wings on a single costume, like a beetle or a dragonfly or something?

How many Animes have this, again?
Like this?

?

Or the "Multiple Tech Wing" version?

Multiple tech wings looks awesome, must have!

Not likely to happen as even multiple capes were blocked from use due to lag that was induced to other players.

Wings are different from capes. The reason multiple capes are blocked is that they use a physics system to animate, which is easy on the developers but hard on the user's computer. Wings do not use physics - they use bones like the rest of the character's limbs, which is much less resource-intensive to render. Like, a LOT.

I'd rather see specific wing-sets rather than multiple unlockable wings....

It's hard enough on my suspension of disbelief that we still have to wait until 20 for capes even after the opening of the capsule, Having Anime characters running around with six wings lording over two-winged people as "Lower Level" just boggles the mind.

If they put in multiple-wings it should be like the Insect Wings: A recipe craftable at level 1. Not a level-gated status symbol which makes next to no sense. "I'm level 20?! Huzzah!" *sprouts -another- set of wings*

The point (pun intended) remains that both capes and wings use the same attachment point. If the developers allow multiple wings (that are not "1 wing"), then they have to deal with multiple capes.

Hmm...not if they split the wing into 'two' wings. As in, the upper right and lower right wings are actually both attached to the same point...

Neh. I know it could look really cool, but I can't actually see it working with any ammount of ease. Sorry. Oh, and wings are not level locked, capes are. Wings are available from level 1 (recipe) or 15 months (veteran wings)

I've already taken that possibility. Let's say that Jay, Babs, and the rest of the art team do come up with a single wing object that consists of 4 or more separate wings (unlike the current insect wings already available). At that point it would still be one object attached to the back point, the same point for wings. At issue with that is the problem that the multiple wings would have to work with all the existing character animations, and that was the reason we were given about fixed wings.

Valkyrie Cape or Wings, Magic Booster capes, and the 21 month Vet Rewards shoulder capes are all available from character creation. Care to put out another theory as to why capes and wings don't use the same anchor point? I say this because you didn't do anything to disprove my point: there is only one place to put either wings or capes, the back. This is why we can't have both wings and a cape (besides it looking funny).

I'm still curious how many the "Many Animes" are. Source, please?

From what I've read on the forums from Sexy Jay and Babs, each character has a 'budgeted' amount of actions/items/movements/costume pieces etc that are allowed to make-up a character, so as not to overload the game and character's standard movement and action requirements.

Capes eat the budget a lot. Wings also take a large toll on the charcters' budget. In previous forum posts a few years ago, I remember the discussion of why 'more' capes or 'more' wings (other than the singular pairs currently available to all in one manner or another) were not feasible due to exceeding this predetermined character's design budget.

If you want more details on this, you might want to try to PM our favorite costumes dev, Jay, to get more information about this, since I am, by no stretch of reality, in any understanding or league of the reasoning why multiple wings probably won't work. Go to the pro from Dover.

Try looking into Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica, but the anime isn't the point Porky, the wings are.
Here we can see 2 set of wings

And here we see 3 sets of wings

Notice that, with every new set of wings, the character looks a little more ridiculous.

A character with, for example, 6 wings...would be downright laughable.

Oh-kay? At what point did I mention capes + wings? I know you cant have both, as should everyone else at this point.
I was saying '"The only way I see this happening is IF, somehow, they managed to make wing 'sets' that anchor to just the back point. If they cant, which is most likely, it's not going to happen, no matter if it might look cool or not."

Passive aggressive comments are not appreciated, hmkay?

Ah, thank you for providing examples. I had not heard of those, since I've never really gotten into anime.

Edit:
Link to Paragonwiki page showing the existing wings: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Wings

Having multiple pairs of wing costume pieces attached to a single point doesn't sound too feasible, if I read the above posters. (And, IMO a pair of Bat wings plus a pair of burned wings plus a pair of Insect Wings would probably look like garbage.)
But what about a single costume piece that consists of 4 or 6 wings based on a single anchor point? Doable?
Although, based on the OP's first post, would probably have to be an unlockable item. And hopefully make sense in a game based on Western-hemisphere comic book culture.

I'm not convinced that there's a HUGE audience out there for this, but I'm willing to listen.

You are clearly unfamiliar with biblical Seraphim, who were basically made of six wings and FIRE!

No I didn't see that at all. I kinda lke the idea of having multiple wing sets, thats kinda why I started the thread.

Isn't that what we do as LvL 30+ with Auras?

Some guy running around in spandex...Hmm he's prolly below lvl 20.
Some guy running around in spandex, and a cape...Hmm he's lvl 20 or higher.
Some guy running around in spandex, a cape, and an aura...Hmm he's at lease lvl 30.

I do however like the idea of making them unlockable, but have miminmum lvl requirements.

I didn't think that a character's level gave anyone the right to "lord over" anyone else. I don't think that many people really care.
That L5 that just ran by? Could be a 5-year vet with a dozen+ L50s and a new alt. That L50 standing there under the AP globe? Could be a guy who bought his account last month and got PL'ed.

But in general, I do like unlocking things. I run the Aura mission every time, even though I never use auras. (Well, that and it gives XP and I might change my mind later about whether to use an aura.)
