Boards Down

So the boards were down this morning for who knows how long. I just know I couldn't reach them when I got up this morning. Then all of a sudden. They were up. No message, no explanation, nothing. I took a look and they mentioned that the game servers would be down on Thursdays... but no mention of the message board server.

I know that this has probably been answered a dozen times already, but do the forums usually go down around the same time too?

Not that I recall.

Perhaps they are getting ready for beta sections?

Amusingly the Down Message said it was "For the week in preparation for the switch to vBulletin"

May want to change that, Web Folks.

Er, yeah... a little dated. But to answer prior questions, sometimes server crashes take out the forums, and they can't fix it until they get back to work in the morning. People pay to play a game, not to post messages on a board, so I wouldn't call the boards being down an red phone emergency. (Not saying that anyone's calling it that.) If all West Coast servers are out at 1 a.m. PST on the other hand... time to wake up a server monkey.

My ratio of forum time to game time may literally be 100:1, so right there with ya.
