Blue Sheild: PPD Themed RP Static Team recruiting, You'll love it
We generally start at 7 EST, I think we changed it a while ago.
Excellent. I will plan on spending some time next weekend leveling him up, at least to level 10, perhaps a bit higher if possible. I'll also hope to have an IC introduction up before Tuesday. 6:30 EST if I read right, is that correct? See you all there.

"Hello?"
"Hi Bosslady, it's Giz."
"Oh...Hi Giz."
"I'm just calling to say we are now even."
"Wha? Even? What the ... are you talking about?"
"You got me back for not bailing you out of the shindig."
"And how did I do that?"
"By sending me to that quack with the 2 big, burly nurses."
The phone explodes into laughter.
"It's not funny, Shan. I got a prostate exam by a guy as big as Mags. I couldn't sit for 2 days."
The laughter continues.
" I feel ...violated."
" You big baby! Pull yourself together, man. We got work tonight."
"Roge-o, Bosslady."

Will looked at his phone a minute, then turned to his workbench. He waved his hand and activated his inate ability. His armor chestpiece rose up and broke into its component parts, lying themselves neatly on the workspace. Will took a close look at one of the pieces and molded the scratches and pock-marks that the Crey security guards put in it.
"Maybe I am a big baby." he mused, "Give floating eyeballs and delusial scientists over an annual physical anyday."
"At least, Firebase Zulu medics never ******-probed me."
((See you guys tonight.))

Subject: Report--Project K-9 Evolved
While you have received a few reports and updates here and there, I am taking this opportunity to provide an overview of the project and its prototype test subject. As requested, I'm sending this information to Blue Shield as well. I hope they find it useful in preparing for their newest member.
K-9 officers, as you know, have been in use in Paragon City since the 1940's. The last couple of decades, however, has seen both a marked decrease in K-9 effectivness and a dramatic increase K-9 casualties in Paragon city. To be frank, even the best trained police dog is no match for a supercriminal. Even seemingly mundane crimes can turn into superpowered ones in a moment's notice. Indeed, that is exactly what happened to our test subject and his handler when a routine drug investigation turned into a deadly encounter with a gang of Trolls. I'm sure your files are more than adequate to describe what happened. The fact that the subject, then known as Magnet, survived long enough to begin genetic grafting in the first place is itself both a minor miracle and a testament to his superb physical conditioning.
But now, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. This project was begun to create a new breed of police dog able to be as useful against the supercriminal as the normal dog is against the mundane ones.
Basically what we did was to perform a serious of genetic grafts to artificially accelerate genetic development. In essence, we forcibly evolved him to a what a dog could be in 20 or 40 thousands years. The results weren't entirely predictable, but will serve as a template for future evolved canines. We couldn't control the results completely, but we can duplicate them.
The results were enhanced physical stamina speed, and strength--not to any superhuman level, but still significant--a somewhat more humanoid body shape, giving him hands and the ability to walk on two legs, although he's more comfortable on four, and greatly enhanced intelligence--roughly the level of a 8-10 year old child--allowing him to act independently. Smelling and hearing we also greatly improved.
To those abilities we added a few cybernetic upgrades. Artificial claws were implanted in his hands which are capable of piercing most forms of armor and have a paralytic agent to aid in safely subduing suspects. He has been extensively trained their use and is in no danger of accidentally using them to inflict lethal force.
His eyes have been improved with corneal implants to improve his typically poor canine eyesight, which was actually made worse through the genetic grafting. We were able to give him the ability to see in full color, as well as 20/30 vision.
Lastly, we implanted an artificial voicebox to allow him to speak normally, as his mouth and lip shape and natural voice were unable to properly form words.
In tests, he has proven quite satisfactory and has already been put to work tracking down missing persons and wanted criminals on his own in between training schedules.
I will continue checking up on his progress. Be sure to email me with any questions you might have.
"What the hell did you just say!?"
The doctor stood across from Chief Bochco, sweating bullets, and struggling for words. "Well sir, the chemical trace is not residual."
The chief was losing patience. "Yeah, I got that the first time. I'm just trying to figure out what exactly you mean by that."
"Well sir, Dr. Lenkoff originally felt that Officer Hiller's... problems... were a result of extreme drug use causing damage to his adrenal gland. A residual effect. We've been looking into this in the past weeks, and we now believe it's a targetted event."
As the young doctor finished, Chief Bochco sat utterly still. "Poison?"
"Yes, in a manner of speaking. Our testing has shown that he is being given a designer hormone which mimics aspects of adrenaline and superadyne."
He paused for a moment to let that sink in. "Given that the dosage in his system after 'cool down' is still enough to kill five trolls, we're fairly confident that someone is specifically looking to trigger these events. Someone who knows what they're doing."
The chief leaned back in his chair, "So, basically what you're saying is that someone is trying to poison Officer Hiller in the hopes that he 'loses it' and kills someone?"
"Uh, yes sir."
The chief rose out of his chair slowly, walking around to where the young doctor stood before picking up the phone. "Celia, get Bill Grove to my office. NOW!" He slammed the phone down and spun to face the doctor who took a step back.
"Officer Hiller is surveilled 24 hours a day, every minute of which he is surrounded by either his team, or the officers and staff at the training compound. You understand exactly what it means when you say someone is poisoning him?"
The doctor only nodded. "Good. Then get your *** back to the lab and figure out exactly how they're doing it." The chief's face was turning redder by the moment, and he looked on the verge of 'losing it' himself.
The doctor backed out of the office, muttering a "Yes sir," as he closed the door. As he rushed down the hallway to the elevator he passed Bill Grove, and could only shoot the man a warning glance as he hurried to catch the closing elevator. It dawned on him that this was precisely why Dr. Lenkoff had asked him to deliver the news to the chief.

Can everyone get into Cimerar... Cimeroar... Cimeror... that Roman place? Thought maybe we could run some Caeseriffic missions tonight in honor of the Ides of March.

Same problem as last week, not high enough level. Feel free to go without me though.
Work was crazy last week and I just didn't get to the play the game much, so I only got him to level 22. You need 35 for Cimerora.
Nay, it was just a thought - not something I had my heart set on. We can run some other missions instead.

Having problems with the update. Keep encountering a problem I can't seem to get past, or repair. Go ahead and start without me and I'll catch up to you guys if and when I can get logged in.

Hey, I haven't read all 11 pages of this thread, but I'd love to drop by one night for the RP portion and see if I might be a good fit. I have an existing PPD-based character, just level 18. How often do you meet, please, and are newcomers welcome?
I also play to make a return to the game here now that work has settled down from the holidays. I logged in tonight to see if i could catch anyone but I think I missed the time frame. Ah well. Plan to be there next week. You guys didn't even kick me from the supergroup after like... forever and a day. Was pleasantly surprised by that.
Groundswell, yeah, newcomers are welcome. Most of us are in the mid 40s, but our newst member is only mid 20s, and we typically only run with a team of 5 or 6, so a couple more regular players would not be a problem at all.
We currently play from 7 - 9 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday nights. We've kind of gotten away from the Mandatory RP period at the beginning of each play session, but it usually turns out someone (often me) has to do some selling or crafting before we play, so we RP during that time. We also always play in character, but we don't have any problem with the occasional use of ((parenthetical OOC chat)).
If you do decide to join us, we can each point out some character delevopment posts we've made in this thread to bring you up to speed on our characters.
M_D, it would be great to have you back. As long as you have a good reason for... Emerald Sleuth (?) being gone for so long.

Groundswell you're welcome to join and glad to see you back, Dream, Maybe me and the other low-levels can schedule some catch-up time during the weekends, why the weekends? Well let me tell ya...
Gather 'round to hear the exciting tale of Premmy and the Exploding dryer.
It was a Tuesday Night, Premmy was hard at "work" as usual and, as a testament to his great skill was also playing City of Heroes with his Blue Shield Static Group when his boss called him away to run some errands. Well he couldn't very well turn him down so he rushed off. By the time he was done, his team had dispersed and he got back to work. Around 12:30 at night he packed in a final load of laundry into the dryer and went to go finish some work. And what should he find when he returned to his station but a FLAMING DRYER!? Quick action by the fire department saved the building and noone was hurt, but... Premmy could no longer enjoy the spoils of a cushy job that allows him to play video games all day.

I'll miss you all.
Thanks for the welcome! The time slot lays great for me, as I'm an east coast public school teacher with an early bedtime. Your level of in-character falls right along with my natural style. I will try to come by next week with Nightfall Ace and get to know you all. I'll be glad to read up on anything you point me to, but I'm also fine learning the characters in-game as I go. See, Ace has been out of the city for a couple years, and the force has a lot of new people he's getting to know.
7 Tuesday in front of the Kings' Row PPD?
I'm the new guy they mentioned in the mid 20's. I'm still trying to catch up in levels myself and would be more than pleased to team up with you some time. Just join the channel (Blue Sheild or bluesheild, can't remember which) and I'll catch you when you're on some time if you're interested.
Heh, it's been a year and I just now noticed that the name of the group is misspelled.
And I didn't know we even HAD our own channel. lol
Prem, glad you weren't hurt, nor anyone else.

That was fun to read. Skimming this thread, it looks like you guys have a somewhat slow, lazily-revolving door but by and large stay active and regular after all this time? I'm itching to get some RP in; I don't think any happens on my home server whatsoever.

There's a core group of four or five that stay active regularly, yeah. We haven't really done as much roleplaying as a team of young mutants developing their powers and discovering what it's like to be heroes as I think we intended at the start, but it's still been a lot of fun.

Hello to all the new people and returning vets.
I'm Gismo. And I'll be your jack-of all-trades in this party.
Please, place you seatbacks into their upright position and keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.
Thank you and enjoy your stay!
...
It's about time the brass got us some reinforcements, Bosslady!
I hope you busted their walnuts over this.
Be careful tonight, Shan.
I still remember the last St. Patrick's Day. Your family sure throws a wild party. You were hungover for many days again? I can't remember.
*Gismo winks and listens.*
