That's actually a little creepy considering you've only been teaming for a few weeks and you've never even met.
While online friendships are cool, once they cross "person I like to play a game with" to "I love you" without any interim of actual relationship, you probably don't want to be friends with them any more, they'll just get worse.
Well, that's my opinion.
Note to others: I'm not saying you can't find love over the 'net, I'm just saying it takes a bit more than a couple of weeks without ever having met.
hm. fair enough points. but I'd at least like to say that I apologize for offending her in any way.

Which is a good quality of yourself then if you feel like you have to apologize for not having the same feelings.
As a general rule, any girl who falls madly in love with me within the first few weeks of knowing me can only lead to trouble and thus keep far away as possible.
But you have to ask, is she in love with you or your character?

neeehhh... how do you determine that? I haven't really been roleplaying him, if that's what you're asking, but I have no way of knowing whether or not SHE was role playing... hnn...

ohhhh you mean the third meaning, that she's falling in love with my character in game rather than me or roleplaying that she is. I see.
so... you're saying she fell in love with a collection of pixels that she knew represented someone else? odd. as I said, I haven't been roleplaying him as anything but a hero with my mind, so it comes down to costume design?
...wow, maybe I should sell this design if that's the case...
any takers for a costume gua-ran-teed to have women chasing you from Atlas park all the way to peregrine? you won't be able to swing a dead(er) vahzilok without hitting a prospective lover! do I hear 4 million influence?

Which is why you'll mostly get replies of "run away" since how genuine is the love if its purely in the words or your character. You'll be suprised at how often people fall in love with something that isnt actually real.
Is it them trying to grasp onto something that they think is perfect? Possibly.
The way i see it is that you can LIKE somebody as a friend just from words but to fall in love you must [at a minimum] know what they look like. Otherwise [imo] it just isnt real.
Plus . . . . she was a bit full on werent she?

For a laugh me and this girl i know ingame [an actual girl!] decided to make alts of the opposite sex and stand around in atlas trying to "hook up" with people. This was because she kept getting asked by guys to add them to msn and stuff, so we thought lets see if its you or just because your on a girl alt.
So we make the alts [me a girl character and her a male one] and we start pretend flirting with everyone that walks past us. Not only does she get guys chatting her up again [yes they were that way inclined] but i didnt have no-one! I felt useless as a woman

I don't know wether to feel good or bad about the fact I've twice been mistaken for a girl over the net XD
I guess you could say I have a good understanding of the fairer sex? My girlfriend seems to think so

If you have chat logs enabled, ahpla girl's global will be saved. Or you can keep trying
/getglobalname aphla girl.
Then either /tell @globalname, sorry about ...
or
/tell alpha girl, Sorry about ....
But honestly, I'd just leave it well alone. Most unlikely you can 'fix' it (alpha girl sounds real young to me btw), and only complicate things more.
Plus if they read the forums ...

I guess she COULD be playing a mean joke, but why nurse it for weeks to get a payoff that will only happen with a select few people, namely, the ones who'll feel bad about it.
finally, it may be useless or just stupid to apologize for whatever I did that offended her, but if I did, I hate to see people sad, so I generally try to make anyone I can feel better. that goes double when it comes to cases I'm responsible for.

I have an interesting situation.
that really hurt to hear.
you see, for the past few weeks or so, I've been repeatedly teaming with a player in City of Heroes called "Alpha Girl" (real name removed). for the past week or so, I've wondered if said player had a crush on me. today, that was answered, in a string of questions that I will lay out for you approximately, excluding the talking about the alternate dimension gangsters we were arresting.
me: hey, Alpha, for the next few fights could you not heal me? i'd like to see how well I survive.
Alpha: sure.
later...
Alpha: hey, can i start healing you again?
Me (not really needing it): well, whatever you think is best.
Alpha: no, please tell me!
(this part is a little hazy in my mind, but it's the gist of it)
Alpha: I want you you want me here!
Me: look, there is really nothing you can do to make me not want you here.
Alpha:
Alpha: do you speak from your heart?
Alpha: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that.
Me: asked what? nothing you said offended me.
Alpha: i asked if your heart beats for me.
Me: ah. I misunderstood

the whole thing has me feeling terrible over it. I can't Find her to make things right, but I can't in good conscence let the matter be. we've become good friends over the past few weeks, and I don't want that over.
what does the infinite wisdom recommend? I only ask because you're the only chance of actually finding her I have.
