SG Preferred Enemy

OK so while I was reading about some of the official SGs I noticed something that I think would be a good feature for our own: Preferred Enemy Groups.

Basically the idea is this. Once a SG has met a certain requirement (this could be a minimum member size and/or base size or something like that) they can register who there preferred enemy group is (for a prestige cost or maybe just for free).

Doing this will grant a few benefits: the first is that all members of that SG gain some kind of bonus against the preferred enemy group that could take the form of a dmg or prestige bonus etc., it could also unlock a few unique base items that are linked to the enemy group that could also grant some sort of bonus or just be for decoration.

I think a system like this would allow for greater themed SGs and it may also encourage people to develop their SG more. So what do you think? And what form do you think the bonuses should take?

I can't be bothered to think of something amazingly wise or witty to show how much of a genius I am, just take my word for it.

I like this idea. Not sure if this option is available on the PvP side as
well as an Arch-Enemy option. Players could lock in an A-E (Not to
be confused with AE Missions) and both players would be able to get
a small bonus when one defeated the other (Keep in mind, the
victor is the one that get the bonus.)

I'm not a PvP Player, so the options currently available are those
that do engage in the sport so to speak is unknown to me.

its a good idea, but it might be very hard to implement for pvp, but i could see it as a real possibility for NPC enemies (for example your group regularly fights nemesis, so you make nemesis your rival enemy group, ect)

Well my first thought was "farmers are going to love this". This doesn't necessarily make it a bad idea but it is something to keep in mind.

I would love to see more trophy style base decor.

The sad fact is, ANY good idea (Not just one I like) has the potential
for a abuse. It's Human nature that some will abuse the system and
the majority suffers as a result.

Where's the honor system when you need her.

Personally I couldn't really care less about the farmers, if the rest of the community who actually want to play the game how its supposed to be played like the idea then that's what matters.

In regards to AVs (as well as Giant Monsters) and PvP I think that it may be best if whatever bonus you received did not apply for them or else you would probably see TFs, Raids etc. become significantly easier.

I'd make it a prestige bonus above all else. Damage/inf bonuses would just make this overused by the farmers. Bonus base items, too, but balanced based on foes, methinks.

I really do like the idea. My Supergroup has been very against the Circle of Thorns since day one, so being able to introduce this mechanically would be amazing. I'm just not sure how to implement it.

How about adding the option to get missions to attack that group from your base?

I like the sound of that and it made me think of something similar: have the option to have occasional raids on your base by your rival enemy group. Fail to defend your base and the whole SG gets a penalty like no prestige gain for a while or maybe even have base items be destroyed, a system where you could decide how sever the penalty and the strength and size of your attackers would be good. However reducing the size of the penalty would also reduce the size of the bonus you would get for defending your base or something like that.

Aside from giving base defences a reason to exist again I also think it would simply be quite fun as well.

Well base raids are turned off at the moment and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. However if and when the devs eventually restore them it would be nice if they included a PvE base raid capability so that those of us who don't PvP can try it.

If the benefits are purely for your Supergroup- additional Prestige, base items etc- then I'd be all for this.

I don't know if the devs even acknowledge Supergroups and bases any more, though.

I like this idea.
I could see this unlocking a special decorative item or too, as well as a base weapon that was particularly effective against foes of that group, should PvE Base Raids ever occur.
I could agree with the bonus of extra prestige when fighting against the prefered foes.

We HAD a Dev specifically focused on base stuff. For one issue. Base stuff was recosted and stacking was made easier. And then he got commandeered for GR and we haven't heard from him since.
