CoH Updater will not finish loading

If you tried everything and the Updater won't work try this: Go to Program Files/City of Heroes (or Program Files (x86) on 64-bit) and throw out everything remotely named cohupdater. Then download the game client from the City of Heroes web site (it's really just the updater). Save it on the desktop and, and after it downloads, double-click it.

The new updater will download itself, patch the updater in Program Files properly, and create a desktop shortcut. After that you can throw out the cohupdater.exe and the extra files it created on the desktop.

I am trying to get the game running again the way it was before this update.

I run on the US servers.

I can execute the cohupdater.exe file and it will start the game fine. I am running Windows 7. I have COH installed outside of Program Files, C:\Games\City of Heroes. I made a copy of cohupdater.exe and named it Cohstarter.exe When that is executed it is now asking me if I want to allow it to make changes to my system which it was not doing before. I do not want to turn UAC off if possible. I am running Forefront for virus/malware protection and Windows Firewall is on.

Is there a way after this change to get it to stop asking me everything I start the game?

Have the Dev's posted anything about issues logging on that don't involve errors? The updater pulls up fine for me and then just keeps trying to connect. It has connected twice and allowed me to verify files, but then once that is done, it hangs up trying to connect again and just cycles like that. The workaround going straight to the game works and I can get on, but I want to make sure I still get patches and updates.
