Has there been any talk about being able to craft jetpacks in the new issue?

We don't know yet. But that would be cool.

You mean as a permanent costume part? I haven't seen anything.

But you can BUY a jet pack for less than the cost of crafting almost anything. Only 10,000 inf lets you buy a jetpack from the Shadow Shard or Grandville, even at level 1.

I suppose it would be cool to be able to craft (or buy) a super jump pack, or super speed shoes, or a teleportation device for temporary use, but I haven't heard of anything along those lines.

I thought the Shadow Shard was level restricted. I was only talking about the standard jet packs like the raptor, goldbricker, skyraider, etc ones you can get in game. It would be cool if they were permanent but if not even temp craftable jetpacks would be cool.

No, I16 removed the level restriction on most of the hazard zones.

Back when we were still on the old boards, a red name said they liked the idea. I haven't seen any mention of it since, so I doubt it.

The issue with backpacks is currently there are no attach points for them on the model.

We are finally getting animated tails AND tails split off as a separate item from belts, and that's only because they gave the models a new node for the tails to hang off of.

That cant be entirely correct, as we have temp powers that add a jetpack to the frame. The fact that the power manifests a physical object must mean they have some way of attaching them to the bodies. The obvious point would be where wings attach to the body, which does currently exist.

The problem is that of character sliders and scaling.

I have a very petitie charcater whose jet pack sits a little away from her body. Conversely my SS/fire brute has his jetpack bured into his pack. Its so extreme with the GVE pack, you can barely see it.

Its not a huge issue for me, but it is for some others.

(you see a similar effect with a small petite female and claws. The attachment is actually popping out her hand, compared to the larger males (or huge) where the claws come out close to the fingers.

That maybe true, but I've got a "Muscled out" larger toon and when he uses the temp jet pack or jump pack they're both embedded into his back quite far.

I wonder why they can't have the jetpack move with the sliders.

I think that's because the attatchment points for the packs simply aren't linked to the sliders. Adding that capability could be done, but would be a lot of work.
