Jet Pack Vendors

I came up with this idea, when I was going through the rogue isle's, I noticed that all of the other zone's and area's don't have this except for Grandville, so I was thinking why not place a jet pack vendor in other zones and area's that require a travel power for those [like two of mine] that doesn't have a travel power to use.

There is a jet pack vendor in the zone of each side that is tough to get around without vertical travel of some sort: Grandville on villain-side, and the Shadow Shard hero-side.

Considering that any character with enough cash can get to those areas now at any level, and purchase one, I'm not really seeing a need to have more of them. Especially since it would even further negate the need to take a travel power in the first place.

Eh, I don't see how that would be a bad thing. Besides, temp travel powers are still slower than their pool power counterparts, especially since they can't be enhanced.

On the whole, I don't see why temp travel powers shouldn't be more convenient to pick up.

There's a -need- to take a travel power, now?! What the heck?

I've just been using Sprint, Swift, and Hurdle on any character that doesn't thematically have a travel power. o.0

Oh. And now Ninja-Run. =-3

Some people are trying to argue that having to play the game for two hours to get to level 14 in order to get a travel power is driving away new players.

Apparantly not being able to fly immediately is preventing new players from feeling like super heroes. Personally I won't object to putting jetpack vendors in the starting zones. Jetpacks are temp powers and serve as an Inf sink.

As mentioned, they were put in the zones where lacking vertical travel makes things more difficult. They were not put there as a convenience for level 1s.

Besides, you can zip through to level 5 in no time, get your newspaper, and have a jet pack free for doing your safeguard/mayhem. Villainside, you can even get a second one via Marshall Brass.

Well, as Quinch has said, the Raptor Pack is slower than flying or other travel powers. On my sprint+swift+mental training/raptor pack Bane Spider I often miss having a proper travel power when my contact tells me to go to Primeva.

That said, your suggestion has already been made true. There's Jetpack Vendors in all zones that require flying to be convenient. Funny how that worked out, eh?

It was mainly a thought and an idea, mostly because I noticed it in Grandville but not in other zones, I know that they're slow'er 'not a veteran for nothing yo' I just thought it be a bit helpful to make traveling around Paragon City & the Rogue Isle's a bit more interesting, and a bit easier for some..

And a third one via Lt. Chalmers.

Temporary travel powers are only slower than their normal counterparts because they can't be enhanced. Raptor Pack is the same speed as Fly with no enhancements in it.
