Solo Tanking on +0
Many Tanks got to level 50 on +0, I'm sure that many soloed it. Especially those Tanks that were created before you could change the difficulty of your missions.
Is it particularly fast? Not really. Is it slow? Again, not really. I'd probably guess in the 2-300 hour range for getting to 50 doing it nowadays.
Still, I would probably try to set yourself to at least more teammates while solo, and try to leverage your AoEs to take down more enemies faster.

Just out of curiosity, what's the build of the tank? An Inv/SS may be able to move at a different pace than a Fire/Fire. Is this with IOs? Or without? These things may change what settings you can quickly solo at.

I will be getting IO's...but most of them are not getting slotted until level 47.
You could probably go +2 before Footstomp. Sure, you have no AOE, but that setting doesn't add much. Generally you'd be fighting more bosses and lieutenants with that, and SS has good ST damage that can beat those up fast.
After that, you could easily up it a notch or two more. Sure, you could probably handle +5 to +8 mobs alone, but it would take awhile to clear them all with just your STs and Footstomp. Longer than I like to take on missions, anyway (I like working on story arcs for the merits, so I balance out between that and the xp gain of adding to how many players I equal).

The Brute clearly solo's faster than the Tank. So i figure soloing the Tank on +0 will give the illusion that it is soloing as fast as the Brute, in regards to mission completion time.
Edit: Fixed spelling error.
I tend to adjust the difficulty per character. For instance, high AoE characters might get a bump for number of players I'm equal to whereas ST characters will get a bump for level of the enemies I fight.
For instance, my Elec/Stone Tank runs at +0/x2 since he's durable and can dispatch +0 quickly. My Elec/Elec blaster runs at -1/x4 since he has more AoE.
I'd also recommend using your second build for a soloing build. You can drop Taunt and slot your attacks more heavily - I think I use dual builds for my Tankers more than any other AT.
I've soloed Tankers often - while not as fast as, say, a Scrapper or Blaster, it's also considerably safer so you save time on that end by not getting as much debt and not losing time hitting hospital and running back. It won't be as fast as teaming, of course, but it's certainly viable. At least, that's my perspective, YMMV.
Oh, and minor point, but it's "illusion". Allusion is when you make a reference to something.

Yup, I go with pretty much the same approach, Clouded. I up the number of mobs for AOE heavy ATs, up the level for ST focused ones. So my Nin Stalker does well with higher level mobs, whereas my blasters like to have more targets (usually go +1 or +0, and up the number of mobs as I increase their defense levels).

Id have to say that +0 would be fine for your Tanker.Although im surprised thats the level you have to use to be speedy while soloing.Foot Stomp will help im sure, but im still surprised because I hear everyone rave about a WP/SS Tanker.Never made one personally, but have watched them before, and wasnt impressed.
Iv never solo'd missions any lower then +1/8 w/bosses on any of my Tankers, and they rip through like a flame through tissue paper. The highest I can solo at is +3/8 w/bosses on my Fire/Fire/Pyre Tanker.Im a bit reluctant to push it to +4 with my Fire Tanker, and tend to go at a +2/8 w/bosses pace on my Elec/Elec Tanker.
After Foot Stomp for your tanker is grabbed up, id up the difficulty to +0/8 w/bosses.You should have no issues ripping through that rather fast.
Right now, my level 27 Traps/Rad Defender can solo rather quickly at a +0/8 w/bosses, so I have no douts you should be able to as well.
Hitting the nail on the head there Clouded, the character sets the pace for soloing. Not to mention the player does as well.

I wouldn't take anything in this post serious.
How cute, I have a Stalker.
Im no longer arguing with anyone on the Perma-Hasten Issue, because you have a few seconds down time, which people say isnt Perma, maybe its not, but id very much like you to stop stalking me Lucky666.
I can easly get you for Harrassment by trying to focus unwanted attention towards another poster, when they are not on the post your talking about.
So back off, and just for your information Lucky666, my Resistance Tanks can blow through the difficulties I just quoted. My Fire Tanker is set up for massive Damage, even for a Tanker, and my Elec Tanker is set up for Damage and KD.
Its a diffrent playing style using the Tankers I use vs WP/ or Inlvn/ sets. Why dont you try it some time.

Not sure what else he said to give you such a grudge, but that post was okay.

Except... you can do the things he was posting about, Lucky. My Fire/Fire is a bit of a nail biter with the +8 sized mobs at +4 (and I would probably avoid it with Malta), so I generally keep him lower, but it is possible, depending on how you have things built. Tanks are supposed to take alphas for a full 8 man team, so it's not improbable.

Im his kicking post because he is bored, and im fully aware where those 2 extra red bars on my Post Rep came from 2 hours after telling him to stop Stalking me...Thanks Lucky666 for down spamming my Rep, it doesnt bother me.
Anyhow, I seem to be a magnet for A-Holes in the game, and on the Forums, and he is the only one of the nit-pickers thats going over board by harrassing me because I used a term like "Perma" wrong.
Lucky666 is a prime example of why some Lions eat there young.
My main is a Tank. I love being the Tank for teams...but there is always those times when you cannot get a team and I have to solo, which is fine.
I'm thinking of soloing on +0 in order to make the missions go faster and to give the allusion of high damage.
I'm just wondering if this will be too slow of leveling.
Has any Tanker soloed +0 throughout leveling?
If so, how "fast" did you level?
