Is it worth it to start up?

Simply put: I have been playing for 3 months, a little to a lot everyday. I have too many alts to mention and my characters range from level 2 to 35 at this point. There is always something to do or someone to run with. Personally, I am on Freedom server but have tried several others as well. I suggest server hoping while you still can (free transfers) so you can find the server that fits your schedule & style of play. So is it worth paying up - yes! I have not regretted buying in or buying the booster packs or the second account so my family can joing in when they like. I enjoy this game!

Yes, the glass is half full, there is always another perspective and no they are not following you.

A little late responding, but welcome to the City!

To echo much of what has been said, yes, it is worth playing. This game and this community is one of the best I've ever been a part of.

I've played MxO, DDO (and still do), WAR, WoW and EQ and I've betatested LotRO, which I kept playing for a few months, and several others.

I don't like everything about this game, but who does like everything about any one thing, really?

I can log on and get a team within a few minutes. Or I can just head out solo and take my aggressions out on a few dozen mobs.

I can log onto Cheat Code, my claws/ super reflexes scrapper, who has supermodel good looks and is completely slotted with IOs, I can solo Archvillians with ease and do content designed for a 54 group of 8 players while sipping a cold beer, or I can log onto my katana/ willpower scrapper, a lost teddy bear, and just have fun being a teddy bear in a bowler hat with a big sword and movie action hero toughness.

If someone asks if I want to team, it doesn't matter what level they, or I, are. We can do my missions at level 50, or I can join them in a low level sewer run. I get some extra Influence/ Infamy (which is the way money is counted in this game) and they get XP.

If you just want to have fun and play the game, you can. If you want to go hardcore and figure out the best builds, the best dps attack chain, and the best IO sets for your character, that's there as well.

If you're into RPing, that's here. If you're into PvPing, we have that as well. If you just want to hang out and talk to friends, you're covered, too.

Let me ask you, in any other game, have you ever had a dev send you a private message wanting to ask you something? Our devs do. All the time. They care about the community, and want to include us in the decisions made for this game. Because they know, it's not just their game. It belongs to all of us.

I started in October of 2007. I made an Energy/ Energy blaster on a trial account. I worked my way through the tutorial and went to Atlas Park.

What? Why is the sky green? Rikti invasion.... uhm, what's a Rikti? Team invite.. okay. Sidekick invite? I'm relegated to "Decoy, the Pig Hostage" role? Ok, guess that's the way the game is set up... Oh, this isn't a normal thing, okay. I'm fighting these aliens as a level 49? You mean I can team with high levels? Nice! It's not like that in other games.

We defeated the Rikti invasion and the team departed. I got picked up by another team and they patiently explained what was going on. It was so different from other games.

People who've played for longer than me, and now myself, have helped create a viable, living, breathing superhero and supervillian universe. It's got a ton of lore and backstory. It's got several enemy groups, and it's got FREEM! If you jump on board, you're a new hero, in the first issue of your new comic book, ready to add your own story to the shelves.

I am so longwinded after a bad night at work!
