Blaster changes?

I've been out since about i12-13...I ran with a Fire/EM mainly, had him fully IO'd with about 28% damage and capped health...now I know that Psy/EM is the current best, but as far as IO's and whatnot...has anything really changed? I'd post a build, but I'm nowhere near a computer with Mids.

Not that much has changed since I13, except defense being mostly useless again. So you'll definitely want /cold instead of /force.

Not sure if you've been out for THIS long but:
Most AoE attacks are garbage due to the new activation/recharge time rule that came with garbo i13 pvp, with the exception of ball lightning for corr's iirc that does PvE dmg in PvP and PvP dmg in PvE, You wanna shoot for around 25% dmg, capped HP with accos, 50-80% recharge, the more the better, minimum 41 pts of KB with acro and have enough acc to hit loldefense toons. <<If you knew all of this before hand then you've pretty much got it covered.

edit: think you have played since the new pvp then. my bad.

Welcome back proj.... Send me a tell @barrier and I'll give you a quick breakdown on what I'd change on your fire/em/force.

Just as a warning, it's probably going to be hella expensive to bring your build(s) up to date, since the market has been wonky more or less since I13/I14. (I spent 600 mil on a Stalker yesterday night, and that factored in me pulling the Miracle, Numina, 2 LotGs, and 2 Nucs out of base storage instead of buying them on the market).

heroside it isn't nearly as bad.

apart from pulling 9 ios from my psi/em during a respec and putting them into my rad/ice, the overall cost of a 1500 hp + 40% recharge build was about 750 mill. 750 is about a week's worth of pve while spending most of the time pvping.

Will I need to replace the epics, like Apocolypse, Devastation, etc?

Just out of curiosity do you plan on mainly team PvP'ng on that blaster?

@Psycho Jas

Are you asking if there are better sets out now? I know there was a decent amount of sets/IOs that I had to swap out for my emp respec. You should look at a good mids build to figure out what you'd like to do.

Umm not sure to be honest. Probably will do my fair share of zones, soloing, and teams.

Might want to reconsider your epics then, force mastery can do well in team pvp setting with phase shift taken instead, but I think tactics is somewhat mandatory, or a form of perception, leadership/cold mastery combination might offer you a better deal, all comes down to personal prefrences, lol-divine rolls with force but thats because his blaster is team pvp settings, but yeah just talk to barrier i'm sure he'll inform you a hella lot more then I am. I have no idea who you are but welcome back =]

This is what my Fire/EM/Cold build looks like... you could probably swap out Assault for Maneuvers and pick up a LotG, but I've got Assault as more of a personal preference (don't need more -KB and I'm too cheap to slot another LotG )

Aight heres the build I use to run around with before I joined the herd of sheeps and rolled a Psy/EM - I didn't take TF because it's a piece of **** and you've got issues if you're keeping it in your tray, by the time it finishes animating you can probably spam flares 3 times. replace dmg procs that you can't afford/general IO's you can't afford accordingly.

I agree that having TF in the tray sometimes is a detriment as you get caught trying to follow with melee instead of spamming ranged attacks, however power thrust to total focus makes it worth it in my opinion. Hitting TF and having them hiber only to die when the damage hits from activation is a great feeling.

If the person you're fighting hasn't got enough KB prot to protect themselfs from power thrust then you should probably win the match either way, going into melee is stupid both ways, the only time i'd ever use power thrust in the history of ever is if the person is right next to me, don't forget while you're animating TF, your oponent can still attack you - lastely if you're getting TF for that orgasmic feeling of killing someone in hiber then you're wasting a whole power slot on something pretty stupid.

Pfft no need for that just delete the Fire/EM then reroll a Psy/EM like you've already done.

Very similar to the build I posted earlier on just put one end red in boost range other then that it looks pretty good.

wb proj! u might want to put a micro if you can find one in ss or at least a quickfoot run/end over just a straight run, you don't need to triple slot boost range with recharge..one will make it perma. That way you can move one to hasten for three recharge and move one to manuvers for one more lotg for +9% acc...just suggestions

also i think with dr anything over 70% recharge bonus is not worth it - you maybe could drop veng, add assault with two end rdx and change the end rdx io in accro to a kb..still gets you 45+ kb resist, better dmg..again all personal choices

I see so many people saying psi is so great. What about it makes it great? Im leveling one up right now so Im curious.

uhmmm..
1.Broken Placate Proc in a very spammable power
2.delayed damage so you can launch your own mini-spike
3.few people with psi resist
basically thats the only reason..fire/em is still a good combo, but for now is in psi/em's shadow.... thanks to the placate proc psi blasters are great in duels and thanks to delayed damage they are great in just about everything else...
