Call of the Sandman Chance for Heal on Cast on per mob hit?

So if I use Chance for self heal on an AOE power, does the 10% chance fire for each mob hit or just on my single casting?

I had it on my Sonic/Mental Blaster, in Siren's Song.

I really didn't notice the difference at all - you still get an occasional little boost less than a small green inspiration, despite it hitting multiple targets.

Siren's song was what I planned it for. I might have to try and see. Even a little is fine if you'd use the power anyway right?

If you think of it as a minor +Regen increase its OK I guess.

It didn't work as an emergency heal though. If I was getting in over my head, a quick Sirens Song at a pack of bad guys never fixed up my health bar in a way that made me feel safer.

Then again, I had Aid Self and eventually Personal Force Field, so any help that the proc did offer was negligible compared to that panic button combo.

Give it a go. You may like it more than I did.

I never gave Siren's Song a chance, but I was thinking of playing it like an AOE attack with benefits. If I'm spamming it instead of holding it for emergencies it might make a difference. I'll give it a try anyway. Thanks for the advice

Like other minor sources of regen, it works better as an overall plan to build regen.......just treating it as yet another bonus.

Call of the Sandman is a pretty good, if underutilized, set. It may not be what you're looking for in Siren's Song, depending on your overall slotting strategy, but it is a fairly cheap source of extra recharge, hp, and end. The downside there is that the purple for sleep sets is pretty cheap, too......so it usually gets the nod over Call of the Sandman.

I put mine in frozen aura on my /ice tank, and it does help basically as extra regen.

I also use it on my FF/Sonic's Siren Song, and with softcapped range/AoE it's nearly always enough to heal back damage from a medium-sized spawn, and lets me open Howl - Shockwave (if the right situation) - Siren's Song.

In my Sonic/Ice/Elec Blaster I have Sirens and Frozen Aura slotted with Sandman and all my single target blasts slotted with Entropic Chaos for a total of 5 healing procs.

It won't save you if you get overwhelmed but if you open with Sirens, miss a few, and take a partial alpha, by the time you are done with the spawn you'll be back at full health. I was able to skip the medicine pool on this blaster and rely on the procs, the slows in /Ice and the 2 AoE sleeps.

The nicest thing about putting the Entropics in the tier one and two blasts is that if you are hit with a sleep and one of them procs the sleep will break.

I didn't think of that! Disturbing your own sleep

I'm not sure regen procs, the one I use regularly is in Entropic, are a true source of significant healing. That said, every bit counts.

I would not pick it up except getting all five Entropics gives me 6.25% rech.

Damage procs, however, are fun to watch go off.

ETA: heal proc breaks sleep? Brilliant. I didn't know heal broke sleep. I'll remember that on my ill/ w O2.

Yup. There are some quirky ways to heal while slept (like Corruptors heal aura) thus breaking sleep.

But IMHO, the self heal is unreliable and of low magnitude. I tried it in a Mind Controller.... junked it.

Anything that changes your (or a mob's) hit points (not regen it has to be a heal that puts up green numbers or an attack that puts up red ones) or position (like KD from Ice Slick or Earthquake) will break sleep. Since blasters can fire their tier 1 and 2 primary and tier 1 secondary while slept if the Entropic Chaos proc fires the sleep will break.

Edit - @ Netminder, you should try running a background program like hero stats. You might be surprised by how much healing you can generate with the procs. It seems insignificant because it's not big immediate numbers but it actually is a significant amount over the course of a mission.

O2 Boost breaks sleep anyway And it prevents it (also stun too).
