Although, t'be fair, I've never run into this problem on Union. But I also cant judge, since its the only server I've played on. Also, I've never played US side, so cant judge that either

Scrappers are the Test Pilots of CoX. If we get into serious trouble, we can only blame ourselves, or the RNG.
If I based my judgment of a server on Fire_Minded's post history, I would believe Freedom to be a terrible server, where if you don't have a Stone Tank and an Emp you fail. The only real time when healing really is a big factor in gameplay is the first few levels, prior to when other forms of mitigation start picking up steam. That's why I usually like to see a thermal or an emp in the early levels, but as I play redside a lot, I know that no AT or powerset is ever needed to play this game, unless you add stupidity to the equation.
We don't need a Healer class. 1) It would be useless (sorry, useless is a strong word, let's just say it would be far weaker than any Defender or Controller) 2) There's no such thing as "classes" in this game and 3) I don't believe the devs should design towards the assumption that players are unable to learn new gameplay styles.
It's an old story, one common to most MMO's. It boils down to this: buffs and debuffs and control are less obvious to the casual player. Anyone knows when they are healed; only players who are actually paying attention notice the buffs and debuffs that are just as powerful.
No need for a healer class, thanks.

This thread makes me want to stab myself in the temple with a pen. We don't need a dedicated healer class. What stupid nonsense! Please go to the defender forum and read up on how that class actually works. Anyone who thinks we need a healer AT is completely out to lunch.
My main is a Emp def and I love playing her on teams where my heals are only really necessary when we push too hard and aggro too much. It's nice when I can focus on the buffs instead of the heals and get to throw around some damage too.
