It may have been more polite to mess with his event in the first place? Do you really not see how laughable the suggestion is, coming from you?

Let me get this straight. You have a TL banner in your signature, TL and TA chats in your screenshot, so it was a leap to associate you with them and them with you. Ok.

Here's what I don't get. At a Hami raid (the first I'd seen you attend in 2 years of regular hami attendance) you got upset when I, while running the tank team, declined the services of a tank without the pretty standard requirement of 10 points of kb protection. You took umbrage because you thought I was discrimminating against the tank because of some percieved personal reason (I had no idea who the tank was or the fact that he felt I had some grudge againt him - to this day I couldn't tell you who it was or why you'd feel that), but part of your rant was railing against community events becoming "elitist" - because evidently, a fire tank purchasing 3 kb IOs is beyond the capability of a player who attends raids. You hit the elitist angle pretty hard, even though it's laughable, and something you'd know to be untrue if you had actually attended raids. Yet evidently, you felt so upset by it that you refused to participate in something dominated by "elitist" players and stood on the rock watching the raid. (To be fair, you said you watched to make sure that despite your pronouncement of doom at me taking only 4 vet tanks with taunt and kb protection, that the raid would be ok before you left)

What I don't get is how you can couple that stance you took and a position I agree with (there's no place for elitism) with the fact that you, as a member of two old and established groups on the server and your position as moderator in two of the most active and public channels of the server, did what you could to "game" the contest and deny other players a fairer opportunity to benefit from the prizes that were available. Darkbridger (who I respect both as a person and as a player) quite rightly brings up the point that members of TL didn't need the prize offerings and yet, I can't square that with the fact that you did - and as you said earlier, you aren't splitting that prize up.

So which is it? You needed the influence and saw an easy way to get it, in which case you were motivated by greed and seized the opportunity at the expense of other, more casual players - something that could perhaps be described as "elitist".

Or, you didn't need the influence and decided to claim the prize by gaming the contest at the expense of other, more casual players - motivated by something that could perhaps be described as "Schadenfruede".

You and others that participated said you just wanted to team and have fun. Fair enough, except that two of you claimed 2 of the top 3 prizes. I think you have all said pretty much all that needs to be said, by your own actions.

And as WrongNumber has pointed out, she accomplished the same alone and in less time than it took the 5 of you to accomplish. Perhaps that says volumes as well about why you teamed. Eh, maybe not.

By choice, you are in a leadership role on the server, both by being members of and unless I am mistaken (which could easily be true by virtue of my not really caring about SGs) leader of Tempest Legion (one of the more established SGs on the server) and also by being a moderator in at least 2 of the server community global channels.

Why on earth would you, in that role, put yourself in a position to take from that community?
