Why is there no Accurate ToHit Buff IO set?

After doing a bunch of math and comparisons, I suggested that they make some changes to the set during the open beta after determining that the set doesn't allow you to do anything you can't already do through frankenslotting (except get some set bonuses). But nobody seemed to care. I think the set has too much emphasis on accuracy and endurance myself.
Thank you for trying at least. I have the same issues with those sets myself.

The other problem would be numbers hitting the values people want. For a power like Follow Up, I would want 95% Damage, 95% Recharge, and enough accuracy to hit things, so around 40-70%. The set would be adding endurance and also ToHit. There's no way those values would all add up to something acceptable. The set would have to skimp on Damage, Recharge, or ToHit, and probably end up being a disappointment all around, and just be frankenslot fodder.
OR they could have no single-IOs or procs, but instead two doubles, three triples and one quad. That would allow plenty of enhancement to go around. It'll never ever ever ever ever happen. But it would be cool.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I'd argue that most of the IO recipe sets in-game are poorly constructed for this reason. Part of the excuse behind ED was to "encourage diversity" in slotting. Yet the available sets are so badly designed that they offer little in the way of ACC, DAM, END or whatever that it makes the entire set useless, therefore going back to frankenslotting or just using common IOs.

Take a look around the market, here on the forums at sample builds posted from Mids... you see the same sets being used all over the place. There still is not a lot of diversity in how slotting is done and what recipes people are using and the poor bonuses in a lot of them are what is causing it IMO.

I like the idea of adding additional recipes to each set. Even if there were a dozen or more recipes within one set, we can still only slot 6 of them and we can pick which 6 give us the benefits we are looking for. I'd also drop half of the recipe sets in game now.

To my idea of adding 7th IOs to sets to add enhancement to aspects that are only used in some, not all, powers taking that set:

Thank you... I suggested it back in the open beta of the Issue where IOs were first introduced, but didn't get a lot of traction then... maybe it will now!

You've obviously never seen how hard Soul Drain hits on a brute with a full fury bar already. Slotted for damage it's actually an effective AoE. That's the only AT it's worth slotting that power for damage on though, I'll give ya that.

I would like to see more IO sets in general. Even for lower level characters. I like the concept of IO's and use them when possible to round out my heroes.

What might be a good idea would be to make teleport foe magnitude an additional set bonus to the currently existing Teleport IO sets. On the flip side, it would be nice if TP foe was affected by Overpower and Domination.

Sorry. No.

The last thing we need is more junk sets clogging up our roll tables.

What I would like to see is some decent targetted AoE set aside from posi blast that has some +def in it instead of the recharge (or in addition to a 5% recharge like obliteration from PBAoE- which might be the best designed IO set made so far)

So yes to more sets that people actually use, and no to more sets that hardly anyone would use.

That's why I was suggesting some other form of buying the recipe - and not have it in the standard drop table. It wouldn't be a roll, it would be a choice.

You're making some assumptions here. Just because you do not find a set useful does not mean others will as well.

The issue isn't neccesarily usefulness, but demand.

Various people find the snipes very useful - but pretty much only one can be used per character (if that).

Accurate To-Hit buffs are even more rare than snipes. So if they were going to simply put these in the regular drop tables (which currently weight everything equally) then yes, I can see the cry against it. Which is why I was thinking specific buy only for them.

Just my 2 inf, but some of the IO sets that are "less in demand" could either be reworked to be more desireable or dropped altogether.

I'm more inclined to go with that idea of having more than 6 recipes per set. You can pick which 6 you want instead of having to sacrifice one or more enhanced value just to complete the set.

That and it would keep in line with the ED philosophy.

It's a good idea, but as long as the various stats being enhanced are more evenly distributed amonst the 7 pieces. Others have made the suggestion to simply "add" a stat with the 7th recipe, which would potentially make that one recipe ridiculously over-demanded.

Of course, the devs won't be able to take existing sets and shuffle stat bonuses around like that, so they would have to make new sets entirely for this purpose. It would take a lot of strain off of the demand for other sets, and of course add more breathing room in your choices of enhancements. And one of the BIGGEST drawback about having only 6 recipes per set, is that some sets have a special proc that only allows one per build, so you're screwed if you try to slot the entire set twice... *cough* Gaussian's *cough* Numina *cough* Miracle *cough* etc...
