PVPEC Freedom 4v4 tourney!
When: Sunday 01/24/10

Time: Registration 8:30-9pm EST
Tourney begins @ 9pm EST SHARP!


TOURNAMENT RULES:

This is a SHW Event. Levels 47-50 only.

The tournament will be of a 4 vs 4 Elimination format.

In the event of an odd number of teams, each team will take a turn receiving a PASS. No team will be allowed more then 1 PASS.

All matches will be 10 minutes in length.

All matches will be no HD, no TS. DR will be left enabled.

Sudden Death kills do not count.

Each player must stay on same toon for entire tournament.

Hero/villain mixed teams are allowed.

No repeating AT’s. Not debateable. More specifically only 1 emp and 1 therm allowed per team. (not debateable)

Each round every team will select the map announced by the event hostess. The event hostess will be using a random generator to select the maps and this is not debatable.

Matches will be scored based on a Swiss Style Point System. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie/draw, 0 points for a loss. If a team forfeits (or refuses to fight their opponent) the forfeiting team will receive 0 points, while the remaining team will receive 2 points for a win.

Each team must call "All In" prior to engaging their opponent.

One Reset is permitted for player disconnect within the first 90 seconds of a match. Any disconnects after the first 90 seconds (or a second disconnect) will result in the team having to play shorthanded.

Spawn camping is not permitted. If spawn camping is reported, the match will be repeated WITH the event host present. If an event host observes a team spawn camping they will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

Only inspirations and temp powers bought from the arena store are permitted. Tier 1 inspirations option is to be selected.

Please be respectful to your fellow players by refraining from "trash talk". A player may be disqualified at the event host's discretion.

Preliminary Rounds:

Preliminaries will consist of 3 Rounds at the end of those 3 rounds the bottom 50% will be eliminated. Each subsequent match after the 3rd match will eliminate the bottom 50% until we are left with 2 teams. 50% is an average. That number will be adjusted by the event hostess in order to make it fair.


Championship Rounds:
Championship rounds will consist of best 2 out of 3. For this part of the event only the maps will be chosen differently. First map will be chosen by the team that was told to post the match. Second map will be chosen by the second team. Third map will be chosen randomly by the event hostess.


Entry Fees:

An entry fee of 100 million will be collected from each team. (Entire entry fee must be paid in either infamy *OR* influence, work it out amongst yourselves. The team captain must pay the entire amount for the team.

Prizes :

Winning team splits the jackpot 4 ways. I will pay out the prizes to the individual members of the team. Prizes will be paid out in full in the amount of infamy/influence I receive. Work it out amongst yourself who will get which.

Registration:

Each team needs to select a team captain before registration time. The team captain must send me a tell during the registration time with a list of each toon name in your team. Registration is not complete until the registration fee has been paid in full. Do not bog me down with trying to talk me in to taking multiple trades for this. One trade accepted per team. Even if the entry fee is paid in full any team without all 4 players ready to fight at 9pm EST will be Dq'd.

Registration will be from 8:30pm EST to 9:00pm EST. Registration will be cutoff at precisely 9:00pm EST. No exceptions.

**No exceptions and not debateable means exactly that. Lets have fun!

Hush u! I am going to get lucky just this one time and everyone is just going to accept the rules and be happy and realize they are there just to make things fair and help the event move along smoothly.

Its only 25 mil a person which you can make in a matter of minutes. I am broke on freedom too, so yeah gotta do the entry fee if there is to be a prize.

Question for Clairification:

It says 1 emp and 1 thermal per team. Is the below team acceptable then?

1 Son/Emp Defender
1 Ill/Therm Controller
1 Fire/Pain Corruptor
1 Psi/Em Blaster?

Also, Is this team acceptable?


1 Ill/Storm Controller
1 Storm/Psi Defender
1 Fire/Storm Corruptor
1 Bots/Storm Mastermind

Yep and Yep.

I would love to see that storm team, bet it would be pretty painful to watch on the right maps.

I need to get an idea of how many participants we have for this for me to request the gold title prizes. I know teams are not required to sign up in advance here, but please just give a shoutout on the thread if you intend on competing.
