Canadians on Virtueverse
I would totally make a character for a Canadian RP SG.
@ Rainspirit
ive found there isnt enough maple syrup in paragon to draw them in!
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
I could be lured into making a Canadian-themed toon if you're inclined to make that SG ...
I think this SG should come into existance (Mainly because my canadian hero needs somewhere to go be canadian in).
I also think a requirement to join, besides a canadian character, is to actually be a canadian player!
Don't need any americans spying on our secret plans to ally with cuba and surround them.
Fara Carae is 3rd generation French-Canadian...does that count?

I'll admit I'm tempted to create an SG based on this. That wasn't my intent at all with the origingal post. I just wanted to offer the Northern Watch story element as something Canadian heroes could use in their backstory.
Tempting though. When I finish my Basilisk arc in the MA I plan to do an arc called "The Original Six" which will pit heroes against a villain group tied to Hockey Lore.
Oh I'm so totally down for that arc! I'm sure the Broad Street Bully can make an appearance.
Speaking of costumes, anyone notice how theres about 100 different ways to have an american themed costume. And all you can do for a canadian themed one is have a maple leaf on your chest? Isn't even a canadian style cape!
But oh lawdy, you can be covered with all different variations of the american flag.
They need a pack thats just emblems and flavour stuff based on all the different flags of the world, hehe.
It would be nice if they could take the symbol set and let you put those symbols on the outside of the thigh as well as on the chest. There are some cool symbols that would look good like that.
I'd love to have 3 Maple Leafs on the outside thigh the way the Stars pattern does it.
We need to have a canadian-hero only costume contest to see who's managed to make the coolest looking hero with the one single canadian costume option available, hehe.
Though I did win a spot in a "Most patriotic" themed CC before. It was great too, as it was held by the american legion, so there was a line of 50 stars and stripes, with one lonely maple leaf in the middle, looking nervous.
Hello all!
Was just passing by when this thread caught my attention. I read the virtueverse page and I love the idea! I would really like to use the Northern Watch as part of my character's backstory. I have no idea how to make a virtueverse page but I think I will give it a go.
By the way, what became of making this an actual supergroup?
Hmm. I could do something to that end. After all, I live there :>
The other day I was on my GF's Vent server (she's a WoW player), and one of her game friends asked me "are you Canadian?" I had to explain that I live 12 miles from the USA-Canada border, and that we "blend a lot" due to that.
Anyway, I RP that my main characters are from the Seattle area. They probably would know of the Northern Watch, especially if it saw public action in BC.
It's cool that you have kept your PnP back story alive in CoH.

I ended up making a tank, National Capital, in the red and white. I plan on fleshing him out later, probably in the Ouroportal where all my other toons are.
I've actually taken the first step and had my character Pinwheel XIII make the SG Northern Watch here on Virtue. For whatever reason it won't let me even open the base editor but we'll get to that.
Anyone who is interested in giving their Canadian toon a home and perhaps a chance for us to build something fun feel free to friend Pinwheel XIII and message me when we are both on.
Our only rule would be that at least one costume should have the Maple Leaf on it (for screenies).
ps. Safeguard looks like a real Canadian Bad-***.
That sounds great! I'll have to get NatCap to join the SG, but it probably won't be till Wednesday at the earliest, depending on who gets to hog the comp for the day.
You have one Tanker confirmed, though, sir.
Well, I was inspired to roll up a new tanker, Canadarms. Inv/SS with butt-kicking robotic arms. The character makes more sense now (was rolled before, a long time ago) since the ground punch was added. I'll see how it goes. If the character sticks, I'll get in touch with you guys.

Thanks!
I will add Pinwheel next time Im online and keep a look out for ya!

Hi all. I was just editing and adding my alts onto virtueverse and looking at various tags and categories and I thought of something.
There are 39 Heros and Villains listed under the Category: Canadian
Two of my characters hail from Canada and both of them have, as part of their history, that they were trained as part of the "Northern Watch" initiative of the Canadian government. The Northern Watch was a superhero team/Gov't program in a pen and paper Superhero campaign I was in years and years ago.
It got me thinking. Thinking lead me to create a category: Northern Watch with some history about that agency and its mandate.
Why am I telling you this? Because I'd like to invite anyone with a Canadian superhero or Villain who is looking for something to flesh out their backstory, to consider adding the Northern Watch to their story.
