TA-Glue Arrow.......Whisky Tango Foxtrot

I just started to get into pvp some more on my Doms and moved my PVP doms (in training)to Freedom. First thing that stuck out was wow.. there are a lot of peeps in RV, then the thing that stuck out the most was how if my little toe would G R A Z E a glue patch from the TA set, how I couldn't jump for almost 3 days (okay probably more like 20 secs or more but still)

I'm pretty sure that's OP'd but was wondering if the Devs knew or if there was a post on it. Or is this working as intended? I would have hoped the same thing would have happened to my patch of Quicksand... but sadly no. And is there anyway to to a least get past this -jump?

Thanks for the replies. I will be planning my next kill against The Death Perfectionist lol for revenge on the 200-2 arena matches we had lol.

It's working as intended. It's also an autohit ranged AoE. Yes, it's very annoying. But as long as you have super speed, it's not going to kill you.

Max, they made i13 pvp so we didn't have to take specific powers to be effective. Did you miss the memo?

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

Okay I can deal with it being an autohit power, but why does the same thing not happen to when someone touches quicksand? They are virtually the same except for the - rech maybe. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure I have casted Quicksand numerous times and I dont remember peeps being grounded like I was with glue arrow.

Sorry, I didnt PvP as much as you bud, and since I played mostly doms slated for PVE only, I have never really been on the recieving end of TA-glue arrow. Does anyone else have anymore fruitful input?

If this is working as intended then technically shouldnt quicksand operate the same way?

are you seriously asking for a buff to earth?

pvp some more, bud.

glue arrow and qs are not functionally the same - slows in general are broke...glue arrow is working as intended. Glue arrow is a - recharge where as QS is across the board -def so it technically does a lot more as a debuff.

Think of glue arrow more like web nades.

That is not what I said, and that's not what I was implying. In reference to this post:

I am wondering if quicksand should technically behave the same way. Or is that glue arrow is another bug waiting to get fixed. Just a question, If you dont know the answer bud its cool.

Thanks for the reply, I see what you are saying. I know that the debuff in QS is a autohit for its -def, but I was using mids (at work atm so couldnt look up stats in game)and it looked like the effects to targets were the same(minus the -rech)when I compared the 2. But if I look at it as a big patch of webnade then I get the picture. Thanks.

Many people dont realize you can still fly while webbed. I'm not sure if its a bug or what, but I can toggle on my flight pack and up I go np. You cant get past the -jump, but if you must go up, do it that way.

Yeah, glue doesn't have -fly, only -jump. But any half-competent TA will have entangling arrow on you too, which does have -fly.

Never really picked fly on any of my vills, so never thought about using fly to get out of that damn glue arrow. But its good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

So I have a bit of a question when dealing with a TA, as an emp, what exactly are you supposed to do in an Arena match up. After a few KB's yesterday where I found out playing the zones for the last few months made me more than a little rusty, there was always a TA involved that did a great job of keeping me grounded most of the match, or worse yet a few time times stuck in a dumpster. (Damn Grav/TA's!)

Is there anything you can really do to get heals/buffs to your teammates when you are pretty much grounded the entire match? (So you can at least be semi usefull)

Farm the TA, its what happens to any colds that show up to throw down against the emp in most of the KB's I've been in.

I tend to encounter the patch more often than I actually attract the attention of the TA. (Thankfully)

I'm all ready in the process of remaking it into a Grav/TA instead, since my Earth/TA was more of a zone toon. Plus with QS nerf I don't really have much use for my primary. And Grav/** can actually slow people down to a crawl, wormhole emp to corners and so on, so Dex TA is more beastly then my.

As for the been grounded while on a emp, not much can be done about that just hope your teamate is smart enough to run towards you. If your on vent let them know, that's what the other emp did last night drive by heals lol.

Hah, yeah I was on vent but I'm used to TS so I need to figure out how to get my mic to work there so communication was an issue. I'd hear people calling out for a heal half way across the map with a pile of geography between me and whoever, none of it all that friendly to being stuck on the ground.

It was definitely pretty beast as far as setting people up or taking people out of the fight. I know in the AP map I spent half the time TP'ed into the pools then glue arrowed, in Outbreak I think 3 times I got TP'ed into a dumpster and glue arrowed having to sit there in phase shift waiting to get out. So awful :P But can't argue it wasn't really effective.

*Edit* I'm a n00b for not remembering the arena TP power for getting out of the dumpster/pools.
