Popular and Leader badges help

Hello everybody,

am now off on my journey for the above badges and just wanted to be real clear about the objectives.

Popular - earn 250 million Inf
Leader - earn 500 million Inf

Am I correct in thinking that only Inf earned by defeating Foes count for those totals?

Confirmation or corrections will be appreciated as will all suggestions as to how to maximise earnings/minimise pain

I have been running a lot of TFs and flashbacks with my 50.

Cat has it right, as always.

I recommend just play, play, play your toon. Anything you can get in on -- TFs/SFs, RWZ teams, whatever. The bigger the team the better!

Remember to change your setting in Options so that you earn double inf when exemped (not sure if it really matters on 50s, but I always change it just in case). Then do some Flashbacks via Ouroboros, which can be very lucrative in being able to earn inf.

And while I'm sure everyone here is aware of it, just for the sake of saying, and for those at home: inf. earned in stores, markets, or trading does NOT count. So your total influence on-hand is NO benchmark of progress. Look at the badge bar instead.

Yes, you can have several billion inf., but no inf. badges.

Well, since we're being complete here, let's not forget the Mystery Gift. Like rescuing citz while street sweeping, it's not lucrative, and on top of that, it's limited, but there it is.

Um... Oops. For some reason, I thought you meant opening the presents scattered around the zones. No idea why, since they don't grant any Inf directly.

grind, grind, grind..... and then grind some more (but not in AE). Most fun way imo is tf/sf, also teaming with good friends, exemp a alot.
Also u can combine it with the hunt for the ouroboros badges.
I had some great boost in my progress bar, during DXP weekends.

You know, somehow I completely missed the new lvl 50 "Double Inf - No XP" thing, must have been on Planet Zorg as usual! Big TY's for that info

It would appear that, as I suspected, the only way to achieve the badges is to get out and grab them. This is what I hoped would be the case.

My main badger toon (and also still my favourite) is a lvl 50 Scrapper that has not been doing this for a while. I have been keeping it logged off to aquire the day Job stuff and also when logged in have been farming the other achiement badges ( PvP/Mentoring/Healing(Empathy yesterday)/Gladiator et cetera) in fact everything but playing.

All this stuff is now out of the way albeit that it was very interesting going through the processes of achieving them. So now I can go out and let him go bonkers again just having fun in the ways only a scrappie knows how to

Edit to include: So with "No XP - Double Inf", does a Double XP weekend now mean in effect a quadruple Inf weekend, hope this makes sense ie 4 x Inf for a normal non 2xp weekend defeat?

It would be really cool though, if you finished off the badge by opening a present.

Just got Leader myself the other day on my badger. I primarily ran the ITF whenever I could, as it gives a good influence-to-time ratio. On average, an ITF run will net you around 5 million influence within an hour of game play. Double that during a double XP event. Leisurly ITF runs (kill alls, or kill mosts) would net around 7-8 million within about two hours of play.

A dedicated full team of exemplared heroes can earn roughly 25-30 million INF an hour doing 'Mary Bashes' during 2x weekends. I earned 900 million INF for badges doing that one 2x weekend myself. Marathoning it that one weekend probably saved me literally months of normal farming sessions.

I've heard of specialized solo Tank/Scrapper builds being able to do that well by farming in RWZ but I've yet to hear of any other way for non-specialized squishy builds to consistently earn more than the Mary Bashes will allow for so far.
