How to make bases transferrable?

Inspired by the free character transfer gift.

Treat the bases the same way we would costumes; something that can be saved and used by another toon.

Create two save options: Save Floorplan and Save Placements. Both would tabulate an approximate total cost as part of their respective files; allowing each to be 'pasted' only if the paster has the prestige available to cover the costs. [and if the placements match the floorplan it's going into]

Adding the 'Upload Base' option to the base edit screen.

[This would also allow for the rebuilding of bases that have been trashed by members-gone-postal or hiccups in the system]

Unfortunately, this wouldn't cover individual items stored; so players would be responsible for manually transferring their wanted items.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
*Arc #95278-Gathering the Four Winds -3 step arc; challenging - 5 Ratings/3 Stars (still working out the kinks)
*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

That's a great idea, but to "complete" the character transfer, we still need a way to transfer Prestige. In my case for example, I invested millions and millions of prestige in my base, and restarting my SG on another server, and regaining all the prestige, badges, etc... before being finally able to "Load" my base, would still be something that would prevent me from moving from my home server.

That sounds like a problem waiting to happen (except in the cases of solo SGs). The Superleader decides to take a base without consent of his SGmates (or on limited notice) and outs them of all the prestige they may have contributed to the SG; all this under the assumption that only the Superleader would be the only one with access to that option.

Even under the best of intentions, there would be no guarantee that SGmates would agree on what server to transfer to or could afford to transfer.

That's why this is a purely cosmetic transfer; outside of floorplan and item placement... everything else would have to be handled independently of the copy/paste.

Prestige has never belonged to the players. It belongs to the SG.

Very true however the SG wouldn't have that prestige and all the nice TOYS it bought without the members staying in SG mode and earning it. I have 50 levels that never left SG mode from level 2 through 50 and earned the group more than 600,000 in prestige. NOW you go to Atlas Park and check the exchange rate for BUYING prestige using influence. It's 1 Million in influence to purchase 2000 prestige over or 500 in influence for every 1 prestige.. so that's like saying I donated over 300 million in influence to my base. Is there anyway I personally can use that prestige? Well aside from using the telporters, med bay, and storage items provided inside NO but 600,000 prestige is enough to have built my OWN little base with all the toys so saying it was never mine to begin with and eluding that I have no right to say NO I don't want the base to move from say Freedom to Infinity I like it here is NOT a good idea.

There are small SGs now with basically 4-5 members with a LOT of Alts in the same SG. If those 4-5 players all agree to move an SG fine but as mentioned above there are SGs out there now that have been around a long time and have more than 100 members. Getting 100 people to agree to one new sever would be a nightmare and it doesn't seem very fair to say well 40 people agreed to Infinity, 25 to Virtue, and 20 want to stay here so we move to Infinity. What that means is 40 people got what they wanted or were talked into it and 45 (?) were slighted? Last time I checked 45 was higher than 40 so a MINORITY got to decide the base was moving to a new sever and to which one? And now 45 members that don't like the move at all either pay to transfer their characters or leave the SG and go look for a new one that HOPEFULLY won't decide to do the same thing. And to top it off whi knows how much of that bases prestige was a direct result of those 45 players playing the game in SG mode to help build the base to begin with.

No I can see this idea causing an uproar in game and on the forums and frankly it won't work. If a base Superleader decides he doesn't like the servers his SG is on he is free to buy a transfer and move to a new one but that base belongs to ALL it's members and they have the right to keep it right where it is. Let him go and start all over again if he wants but tranferring his base with him is not fair and I really don't see NC Soft ever agreeing to it.

Don't get me wrong Wendy, I'm not saying there wouldn't be a whole passel of headaches and arguments in SG's with more than 1 player. Each additional player could potentially add to the headaches exponentially.

I was merely pointing out that the way the game mechanics work, a player has no claim to any prestige he/she/it has earned while in SG mode.

And through the creation of the Super leader rank, the SG does belong to one person.
Customer service headaches led to it, and they are almost entirely out of intra-Sg actions outside of bugs.

The Super leader can boot everyone if they so chose, and Customer service will not do a thing about it.

Yes I recall one thread where someone was angry that he cancelled his account last December, (he didn't take the time to put anyone he trusted in charge of his SG, he just left without a word to anyone) and when he finally returned 6 months later he found someone who was invited to the SG after he left was now the SL and Customer Service told him there was nothing they could do about it.

Why would they?
