How tough is Clamor?

I have a level 25 Energy/Fire Blaster; I duo with a Kinetic/Psychic Defender. We're both slotted with SOs. We wanted to duo the Sister Psyche Task Force. Do you think we have any chance against Clamor?

Alternatively, we could try doing the Moonfire TF and taking down Arakhn.

Soloed Clamor with a claws/sr scrapper. I'd be surprised if she gave your duo much of a problem.

haven't tried soloing Moonfire yet, but I'd bet your duo would be fine there as well.

Thanks. I'm a bit nervous because we got crushed by the Clockwork King back at level 20... we just couldn't do enough damage. Survived a long time on inspirations, then died...

Soloed him as well. He got payback the other night during an LGTF. His alpha strike faceplanted me.

Clamor's gimmick is her rad debuffs.

Between the two of you, you should have enough damage output assuming you can hit through them.

I'd second the advice of grabbing a shivan shard, not to use at first but in case things don't go well, you will have a fall back plan.

The clockwork king at 20 is pre-SOs. assuming you grabbed SOs (or IO equivalents) you damage potential went up significantly.

Do the new Exemplar rules apply to Task Forces? That is, say we wanted revenge on his Clokworkness: we'd be exemplared down to 20 by the TF, but would we still have our 22 and 24 powers?

I'm mostly sure that the answer is yes. Which is why there's been an uptick on Positron's TF runs.

Yes, 100%. You maintain powers as selected up to 5 levels above your exemplared level.

As Bill points out, particularly useful for the Posi TF (as well as Synapse).

The SSK rules apply at all times, no matter what content you're doing. PVE, PVP, TFs, Ouro, AE, everything.

Chance? Definitely. As noted, you'll be operating at 25 but keeping your powers up to level 30. The only *possible* issue I see is that, as an AV, she hits pretty hard and you're two squishies. And with her debuffs, she won't miss a lot. On the bright side, she doesn't get the debuffs that Positron has. He's rad too and can put your recharge rate into the toilet.

Expect to get hit a lot, and hard. I'm addressing that to you (the blaster), since you'll be doing most of the damage and should have most of her attention. And if you want your teammate to be able to heal you, you'll need to be standing right next to Clamor.

Forgive me, but I don't believe SSK holds true in PvP zones.

Let me be clearer. I believe in zones you cannot access +5 powers in PvP. Or such was discussed at some point. Was this changed? The rest, with the exemplared experience and such should remain.

*edit* .....And sorry to distract from the OP. Kinetics is undervalued vs. AV's, as many kinetic players seem to undervalue the true potency of siphon power's -dam component. Unlike many other debuffs, I don't believe AV's sport special -dam debuff resistance, so spamming siphon power, transfusion, and siphon speed will greatly lower regeneration and damage output from said target.

Special resistance? No. But the basic resistance is still pretty good (Debuffs always welcome, though.)

It doesn't need to be so, I have a fully SOd out level 17 for doing posi.

Just takes a bit of effort, that's all.

Yin-Os rock at that sort of level but in the end I got a full set of level 20 SOs that people had dropped off the clockwork king in Synapse. Just took a bit of patience at WWs.

You have access to those powers. SSK functions the same all the time, like I said in the first place.

Yup, this. Go test it out, I think you'll find out Agge is correct (at least I'M not betting against her! ).

I was just in Bloody Bay this weekend grabbing Shivans for a TF. I had all my level 30 powers available.

I know it was (briefly) complained about by PVPers when Issue 16 was in beta, as many liked the fact that Siren's Call didn't allow access to Tier 9 secondary powers, but the discussion seemed to dry up pretty quickly.

I was referring to this: archvillain resistance

Basically, yes, debuffs are good, but -damage debuffs actually go a long ways toward softening the blows. Even at level 25, all other debuffs are cut to 28% effectiveness, but spamming siphon power is at 100%. (With good recharge, -50% damage from a target on a defender.)

Not saying the other debuffs don't help, just that this one gets overlooked, and shouldn't.

Eyewitness account: I'm in Warburg THIS VERY SECOND and have access to a power I took at 41.

Well *I* know it's right, silly, but the poster seemed to need some convincing!
