leveling pact
When pacts came out along with shields, my friend and I tested BS/Shield on test. So we both got the chance to get up to around 18 on test. Once the stuff went live, we pacted, and then my friend got her plant/kin and dragged me into a few missions until we got to 22.
It works, just goes twice as slow since you're pushing 50% of the exp off onto an invisible third person.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

That's true... so in the grand scheme of things would you say it's faster just to lvl the two as a duo?

My girlfriend and I have a lot of pact pairs, and while we do as you suggest, take a highbie and sidekick one of the pair, we have found other options to be more fun for us:
- Create two pairs, then pact, then level each with one member of the pair. That way we're essentially leveling 4 characters at the same time. Some friends of ours even went so far as to create a superteam of rads where we were all pacted to offline alts, essentially leveling 16 characters at once. Since it was a superteam we didn't feel any slowness.
- Another thing we've done is take advantage of Patrol xp and hop from alt to alt, reserving leveling until they have a good amount of xp to burn. Even when solo a pacted character feels like he's pretty much advancing at normal speed when Patrol XP is factored in.
Really though, pacting isn't about leveling faster or finding the fastest way. We have fun giving each other "present levels" when the other is offline. We have fun finding strong pairs that work well together, and using the difficulty system to our advantage instead of relying on the pacting system to speed things. It's about playing together for us.

We're not necessarily looking for the quickest way to lvl per se... it was just an idea we were kicking around. However, I do like the idea you suggest of making two pairs but lvling them with opposite members. I'm in no huge rush to have a ton of lvl 50s or anything... I don't even have one yet my "high lvl" toon is 30 lol.

If you are looking to play together a lot, the levelling pact actually works really nicely. My son and I did it for some of our earliest adventures in the game. I like the idea of leveling a set of 4 all at once, never tried that.
My wife and I have a pair or corruptors that are pacted. Fire/Kin and Dark/Kin (yes, the pair IS as nasty as it sounds)
We seldom play them simultaneously these days (mostly because we're down to one comp), instead we pair them up with others and level 3 or 4 toons at once.
It works nicely, and when we do feel like playing both at once we know there isn't going to be any level discrepancy.

My wife and I have (or had) characters that were pacted together, but we closed our accounts earlier this year. We both just reactivated our accounts today and, when we logged in, we were told our leveling pact had been broken. I wonder if there's any way we can re-establish the pact, or are we S.O.L.?

I've got a pact going on two characters, one hero one villain, and it works very nicely. We're both always the same level, and even if one is offline, the inf remains the same, so half-xp gains still means a lot of cash on hand.
There is some lag on actually gaining the xp. Nothing serious, but you can tell that it takes a second or two after you defeat something before the xp message appears, and when you level up, it's like another couple of seconds for the game to realize this and do the level up animation. However, that's just nitpicking, as it works very well.
I wish they'd revisit this, though. It'd be nice to start pacts later on, or re-pact if you accidentally break it (or a bug causes it to break), or even be able to do a three or four person pact (probably don't want too many people in a pact, since it could really slow down xp if only one shows up).

If you are able to play together, leveling pacts are really fun. Making concept characters and keeping them the same level so that the duo story follows them is always a plus for me. However, if you and your significant other plays at different times, it can be a little annoying (in my situation, at least). Example: my hubby and I have a higher level pact that we love, so we made another one recently. He works in retail and during the holidays works crazy long hours. This has caused us to rarely play together, although he has been playing his pacted toon. This has caused me (early pregnancy+work=too tired to play usually) to have a higher level toon that can't afford enhancements.

My girlfriend and I were thinking of making new toons and starting a leveling pact. What we then thought about was taking one of our higher level toons and sidekicking one of the lower lvl ones in theory lvling both a little faster.
I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has tried this.
