don't make a defender.
Yeah defenders suck. But if you must make one, storm/psy is better than storm/dark for zones. Psy is decent damage, while dark is really bad. Dark is mostly good for 1v1 duel stuff.
i was wondering bc i have 0 slef heal with the psy and unable to fit tactics in zone with it with dark i get both a self heal and tacics so that was my question solo storm 0 slef heal is begging to be kited

defenders are trash.
there is nothing a defender can do that corruptor or controller can't do better.

My defender has +15% global damage and all my blasts have at least +102% damage and kills stalkers. I've solo'ed hopkins and the envoy shadows with him. He also has 18 original hammies (thank you sneaky prophet).
You don't know what you are talking about. My defender does decent solo but shines on a team in PvP. I know this, because when I'm on, I'm the only one dying on my team. Why? because I'm the only toon on the team the villains can kill, since the buffs and debuffs keep everyone else alive.
When going rogue hits, I'm going to the rogue isles and destroying all the AVs and SFs on the nub side, then I'm switching back. So I will have one character that has done every TF/SF/AV/GM in the game.
COH players >> COV players >> EANoobs

Yeah but Defenders are so much better...
Also, no one in the PvP forums cares that you soloed an AV. It's not hard.

lol again it must be avaiding u i didnt ask if u think a corr or diff toon would be better i shortned it bc i know other at's just wanted some input on those specific two power choices that is all not opinion of what at or toon is better but i guess what i get for forums all anyone brings is thier own pvp baggage to it

If you are dead set on keeping it a defender I would stick with the storm/psy, since storm/dark are more for 1vs1. And **/dark really shine once you get powerboost. If your reason for going dark is life drain, why not carry greens? it's not like you need any other type of inspirations to survive, stop being lazy.

at 50 yeah it's sucky because you have to work in a phase to survive or team with really good healers who have phase lol. @ 30 in SC (on a50 build) I have fun with my storm/rad def. Tactics are not so necessary when it is more stalkers there and your hurricane destealths..I worked in aid self and since you can proc out rad blasts it can be effective.
but tbh it is the hardest if my hero toons to play.

i have been playing a storm/psi def. Mainly bc kb are becoming boring ,and some zone is still fun for me. Im loving the storm but was wondering if a storm/dark would be better for solo zone pvp? Your thoughts please. KInda Mostly sc and maybe a little arena/rv.
