**/Therm Controller for PvP

Heyas.

I've never made a troller for PvP. I've heard that /therm is pretty good. Any suggestions what would be a fun set for a newb controller for PvP?

Thanks!!

I have a sonic/cold corruptor which I love. I would imagine the ice/cold controller would be a good team pvp set too. Lot's of slows. How is Arctic Air in PvP?

Thanks!

its meh... maybe somewhat usefull vs melee who dont have tactics shiver and a couple cold debuffs will cap most anyones -recharge. but Earth grav ice and ill all have good percs with therm tho

i'm leveling up an earth/therm for the idea that controllers don't get access to much +tohit, and I want melt armor/heatex to land when i use it--thus i want to stack some -def first, which earth has.

I know for a fact that a well IOd, that doesnt include purples, stone/therm is very powerful in pvp. Seen several and they were very tough to beat.

if you're set on a therm, try an ill/therm. roman has one and last time i fought him i left dent marks on my desk.

as for a /cold controller, unless you have craploads of money heroside, there's very little reason to roll one over something like your sonic/cold. on a sonic/cold, in team matches, you get access to webnades which make you in a hellish disruption toon (once you get going on the webnade/infridge spam, the drop in kill rates is generally pretty noticeable in bigger matches).

/ff's are nice, /emps are still great, /kins are useless, /sonic is useless, /storm is ok, but requires skillful play, /therm is good, /ta's great.

ask mage to elaborate on the ice/cold though.
musey rolls on a ta/ defender, so maybe there's something i'm missing on the TA troller vs. TA def front.
don't listen to divine unless he's talking /rad.

my alter ego is leveling and ice/cold troller repeat-offenders style, so when it's 50 and spec'd, i may be able to give more feedback.

mind therm is fun ... confuse, and the three mains thorw in tk or the fear..to hit is not such an issue if you build your atks for acc and get leadership - with primal epic you get powerboost so your to hit will get a boost too with tactics on.

ice cold is bad ***...try having mage on you with no recharge lol..

You're not missing anything on the TA front BB, Musey wants a troller TA instead.

I had an Ill/Therm i found it effective but boring, probably just my taste. I`m sure It would be one of the best Troller toons to learn on though.

The Ice/Cold i love, good for duels and teams, there is better for both but it is good. Im not so sure if it is ideal to start on. Imo, it is easier to play something with a self heal (and/or massive damage)

Shenanigans

LotD - JaL - POWT/SMD - SoCo - AJs

I heard that the Mind/Therm troller was fun for PvP. I may have to roll one.

I do have an earth/cold troller for PvE. Any chance that combo could work for PvP?

Thanks!

Earth has kinda slow activating powers, but yes, that combo would definitely work.

yeah, cold's a tight build.

my skeleton for that would be something like this:

Here's an Earth/Cold build I'm tooling around with. Not as much HP as I'd like (man, that seems to be the case with all my builds unless I start getting into lots of purples and PvP IOs) but has respectable recharge and damage bonuses, shouldn't have too many endurance issues, and has 49 points of KB protection which should be enough to stop even Force Bolt with DR on (which would make this character a decent disruption build for team arena matches as well as dueling).
