Kidnap victims walk painfully slowly

I'm on the Doctor Creed mission where you have to break into a hellion house and kidnap two people.
When I try to actually escort them, though, instead of them running after me they seem to have a stupidly slow "Limp" of sorts, making it take ages to even get out of the door. Worst thing is, if you go too far away they cry out "HOW DO I GET OUT OF HERE?!"...
THE DOOR IS RIGHT THERE. RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. WALK TOWARDS IT. *Smashes keyboard*

I tried leaving the building and going back in, reloading the area, logging out and in again, everything. Nothing is helping. They're just... limping.
Help me before I quit out of frustration at the inability to complete this mission.

Rage quit? Hahaha.

You're not by chance using any powers that are "stealthy" are you?

We'll see....

I'm using Hide. Is that a problem D:?

yep...

Stealth Powers makes the rescue missions weird... but makes some sense... if the mission is for you to lead someone to some place, they need to SEE you to follow you...

Yes. I can get lost on a straight-line map.

Odd, I managed a mission where I had to rescue some operative from some blah blah blah and I was hidden for the duration of that, yet he still managed to follow me.
Meh, I'll give it a try.

Works, thanks.

When you're leading an npc, I think that npcs who fight can see you even when you're stealthed, but non-combat npcs cannot.

I may be wrong though.

That's right. If they can fight and be defeated, they can see you. If they are just some random researcher/student/office worker then they can't see you if stealthed/invis/hide.

As for movement speed, even sprint is to fast for them and they will stop (non-fighting NPCs) and be recaptured if they encounter an enemy. You can't ghost in and rescue people without at least clearing a path back to the exit.

The best thing to do is scout out a path from the entrance to the hostage, then kill all mobs between him/her and the door. Then lead the hostage back with Hide off.

I agree this is rather annoying. One of the main reasons I avoid escort missions when playing my Stalker. I wouldn't mind seeing this changed so that NPC escorts stop losing sight of you.

I'd also like to see CoT Thorn Casters, Bosses and Behemoth Overlords stop running all over the map when you damage them once.

I would mind it. It would be completely absurd that you could walk invisible through a room full of enemies and the perfectly visible person following you, who the enemies went to the trouble of kidnapping, attracts no attention.

What I want is for the hostage to see you, but for NPCs to ignore you. If you strayed too close to a mob, they'd take control of the hostage, while you were left invisible. It'd save trouble of having to toggle hide on and off.

Some people do clear maps before rescuing a hostage you know

Except for ambushes which are pretty common.

With my stalker I pick them up, turn off hide, and go on. As soon as I hear the ambush coming I activate my stealth. Even if the ambushes are personal, I turn it on anyway in case I get a chance to use placate. As soon as the fight is over I turn off hide and pick the hostage back up. It isn't like they run back to their spawn point so you aren't losing any ground.

None of my other characters have stealth so it was never an issue before.

In which case, my original argument applies. If a group is coming to investigate the situation, they are not going to ignore the perfectly visible hostage. So if it forces you to forgo your own stealth, that's working properly.

If you have to lead someone somewhere, it should not be stealthable. This is just being realistic.
