Yeah, I go through periods of focus and periods of lazy. I'm in a lazy period right now - been sick several times recently, tired all the time (might be a problem with my CPAP). I'm trying to get back up to full effort, but my willpower is lacking. I honestly HATE working out. I just like how it makes me feel the rest of the time. Plus I hear that exercise is good for you or something. Now I'm feeling guilty for not being in there lifting heavy things like I should be. *sigh* Well, whatever motivates. Off I go. At least it isn't squats day. |
General OT question for scrap's
My wife orders a variety of different raw coffee beans, roasts them once or twice a week and then grinds the roasted beans just before making the coffee.
It's good to be loved by the Goddess Caffeina.

Be well, people of CoH.
I usually have one Mocha Latte (1-2 shots) with Caramel (A Milkyway)...on occaission I'll have 2 a day. Not because it wakes me up or anything (I've had one and then fallen asleep...coffee just doesn't keep me awake).
After that, it's most juice, with a pepsi and water thrown in to mix it up! But mostly juice (Orange, Orange/Pinapple, or Pineapple/Mango/Peach).
Love juice!

Working out... I kick and punch people in the head... with a lack of people I find a strong wall with loads of support and I limit to punching only, then there are the kata that I practice... two styles worth... well only 1 from 1 style and 6 from another.
If I weight lift, I go low weight high reps, don't wanna bulk up, just tone.

I generally drink Espresso.
Illy and Lavazza when I can get them at decent prices, otherwise I often buy from a local Coffee shop that roasts their own beans.
I just bought a bag of "Samatra" coffee beans from Costco, and I'm digging the very different flavor (and it's less harsh than some of the coffee I drank when I was actually in Samatra).

For 4 months last year on a bulk, I did a 5x5 program 3 days a week (Stronglifts, you might have heard of it). The program called for Squats on Mon, Wed and Fri. You increase the weight on the bar by 2.5kg each new workout, if you completed 5x5 the previous workout.
That's 75 squats a week, and a constant incremental increase...
Started to wear my joints out and I was walking like I was 90. I'll never do it again, but I did gain about 12 pounds of solid muscle.
I just want to remain in good enough shape to handle the zombie apocalypse. Course... I never do any cardio so I'm probably gonna die. But at least I'll be able to carry a LOT of ammo.

If you do squats and deadlifts regularly, and lift heavy - you don't need cardio.
And you'll look like a beast.
On the weekends, she even makes me an extra pot in the evenings so I can stay up late and play City with the boyz.
Nothing quite like getting hyped up on good coffee and then falling into scrapper lock, only to notice, minutes AFTER the team wipes, that you are the last one standing and since everything is dead, the rest of the team is starting to rez.
Of course that might not be just the coffee. Could be trying to carry on a conversation with my wife and one on voice chat, watch TV and play my scrapper all at the same time.
Who watches the team window when there are baddies that need killin'? And if the woman that makes me such nice coffee is talking, why would I focus on the cries of death from my friends in voice chat?
These are the questions I ponder.

Mine plays City of Heroes with me... she's often more critical of how the team is doing then I am
And a few weeks ago she truly embraced the warmth that is scrapperlock.

I favor Cafe Bustelo, bought ground in cans or bricks, brewed in a regular coffee pot and not as an espresso. I like the taste, and the coffee is good cold as well, so I never throw it away when I want hot coffee without just making reheated cold coffee.

On topic, I'm not much of a coffee person. I can drink it, but it's not anything I crave. I normally just drink orange juice or milk.

Be well, people of CoH.
Energy drinks in the morning, usually at least 2. Then Mountain Dew the rest of the day.
I ingest enough caffeine in a day to wake a coma patient.
