New pvp'r? Hate pvp? Interested in pvp?
Sorry you never learn, your event still pits 5 yr vets purpled out against 3 month vets with no bonuses. Your still convinced someone with set bonuses giving them 100-500% damage bonus, 90% defence, and 20-30% more health and stamina is on equal ground with a new person? The only way to make it fair for new people is to have 2 seperate classes.
You have lots of great ideas for vets but your still in the dark about new people.

Perhaps you could teach me how to set up events or cater to new pvprs or just have a clue in general? I am humbly open to receiving any and all of your awesomesauce wisdom. While sharing all of that can you also tell me how to police events to keep hardcore pvp vets out of newb pvp events being there is no "I began pvp'n on this date" info for players. Also while explaining all of that also please explain to me how to lick the cream out of oreos without my tongue getting tired or perhaps how to keep my silly dogs from barking when someone knocks at the door? Perhaps you could even teach me the secret to not feeling guilty and donating to everyone ringing a bell this time of year outside of stores? The list is long of all of the things I am sure you can share your great wisdom about and enable me to better myself as a person under your tutelage.
On a serious note, all of us vets were new at one point. We all know what it took for us to learn to be better pvprs. The list varies on what each individual needed. One thing is for sure though, NONE of us got any better by being babied or not being killed or farmed. In fact I can guarandamntee you that 99% of us learned more from being farmed than we did any one on one instructions that any vet or anyone else had to share.
This event was not designed for new pvprs, I never said it was. I said I was attempting to close the gap, which I did. No travel powers eliminates those that have not learned how to evade and travel and attack at the same time from being at a disadvantage. The level range took away epics and patrons. The biggest prize is given out for participation instead of winning. The AT categories eliminated certain FOTM's that all of the vets have from totally owning the entire competition. What more realistically do you suggest could be done dear?
Maybe people (including me) should stop ******** and moaning every time someone does something, that benefits many players on the server, like setting up an event. There is a simple thing to do if you don't like the event or have a problem with part of the set-up... don't participate.
Personally, I think it is great that so many in the pvp community are thinking of ways to get new players, and new pvp'ers, involved. Even I am setting up an HoJ pvp toon now, and I look forward to learning from the people who are willing to teach. Sometimes it is really hard to admit that you don't know something and accept the advice of the people who have experience in the subject; but doing that is better than the alternatives.
3rd part of your paragraph is wronge Cat, your title itself is directed at new pvp'ers.
How to detect vets? Not necessary! What you should be concerned about is the competitors themselves. When they arrive right click them and check INFO to see if they have tons of set bonuses, if they do then they should be in a different category from those who don't. Really simple to do.
2 competitions - vet (with set bonuses) and new (those without set bonuses), simple.

I'm transferring my half IO half SO AR/MM for this (awww yeah).
Felicia, please stop with the qqing.
If your SG's division has 20+ new pvpers, make an effort to take them to the Arena for these events so they learn and have fun.
I'm purposefully bringing a subpar Blaster (I promise to spam Full Auto for it's 25 points of damage, post-resists, as much as possible) just to have fun with the whole thing.
Heck, my Ill/Emp with 3 attacks defeated a completely IOd Stone/SS Tanker the other day and there wasn't as much drama there.
Just show up, grab a soda/juice/water/alcoholic beverage and some snacks and pee vee pee with we plebians.
PS Shin is right on the IO issue, I think Max on Freedom still runs all SOs and he crushes people.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes

You might want to check what [Diminishing Returns] does to Defense....and it would be quite the trick maintaining that 500% damage bonus (which not all ATs can reach...) for a whole 20 (?) minutes...

Go back and read your anniversary back slap threads. You'll be educated in how to point out flaws in other people's events. You might also find something you actually said....something about bringing community together. How does having separate competitions, where the point is for the vet PvPers to teach things to those who aren't, gonna help anything?
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
I'm not much of a PvP'er, but I have many toons fully IO'd/purp'd out. Like other said, skill > IOs. Of course IOs help, but if you suck at playing a fully IO'd toon then it wouldn't even matter much.

QFT, my main brute has a set bonus list as long as my arm and got his head kicked in last time he went to Siren's, lol
Shouldn't you be preparing to give away your inf to other AOW members, or something?

Based on all the fail she posted about percentages and builds all we can do is hope is that it is not her attempting to teach these new pvpr's her SG has now. **shudders**

Second of all my titles says new pvprs, hate pvp and interested in pvp. It does not say ""New pvp'r event"". Again Lrn2read.
Third of all some of the best pvprs ever use lots of toons with no set bonuses. Not that I am the best out there but I only have TWO of my pvp toons that have set bonuses and another 3 that are still HAMI/SO builds. Out of my 2 with set bonuses only 1 of them has any purples in it.
Fourth of all new gamers and new pvprs like to have the best in their toons just as well as vets. I know of a lot of AE farm babies that don't have even 3 month vet badges that have pimped out purpled toons coming out of their wazoo.
Lastly and most importantly, being running pvp events in so easy and you know how to do it....DO IT. Put up your own prize money, spend your own time doing it and while you are at it run it as an SG event and declare AOW the winner.
