My favorite choices for vampire toons are:

Necro/Dark Master Mind (If you've ever read the Laura Caxton Series by David Wellington, these fit right in. Vamps with their rotting "half-dead" servants).
Dark Melee/Regen Scrappers and Stalkers
Dark/Dark Corruptors and Defenders
I went with a Thugs/Dark/Dark mastermind as an homage to the Lost Boys movie. I especially like when the bruiser rolls in on a motorcycle on cue. Gang war really fits the motif how they come in from nowhere and disappear into the dark.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Just to shake things up: Wolverine is Willpower.

He's not Regeneration. Regeneration is not the only thing he can do. In fact, I can't really think of any character who would qualify as Regeneration the way I define it. Regeneration only does one thing: regenerate. You aren't durable, you aren't tough, you aren't battle-hardened, agile, or strong.

Wolverine is all those things. He has battle experience, and tolerance to pain. He can take significantly strong blows because they won't break his bones. He can put up with being shot and cut. He's fast and agile. He can dodge attacks and avoid taking damage. He resists damage, he defends damage, he has a high tolerance to damage, but most of all he regenerates any damage he takes.

So nyeh.

All good points, but I would still say wolverine is a claws/regen scrapper with power pools and IOs making up for the other aspects you mentioned.

Not sure what that is, probably would require I level up a villain past 12 though hm?

OH, the vanguard merit broadsword... That's just a costume bit to augment those that come with the BS power set isn't it?

I always say this...

Wolverine with adamantium skeleton is Willpower.
Wolverine without adamantium skeleton is Regen.

Since we can use characters from any media, I'll take some video game characters:

Link - Broadsword/Shield/Weapon Mastery Scrapper

Donkey Kong - WP/SS Tank

Bowser - Fire/Invuln Brute

Pikachu - Elec/Elec/Elec Blaster

Mewtwo - Psychic Blast/Mental Manipulation Blaster

Ezio Auditore - Claws/Ninjitsu Stalker (claws are as close as you can get to his hidden blades)

Yoshimitsu - Katana/SR Scrapper

And Katana. There's variants available for every edged weapon. I thought everyone knew by now, I mean it's a freaking laser sword.
