New Teleport Power.
WHAT IF....
We made it teleport X distance toward your target, stopping right before your target.
If no target, we get a reticle like with normal tp.
It would be really useful for MMs using aid other, or PBs with healing touch as well as damage dealers.
What if . . .
It used a "double jump" mechanic like Deadpool's TP in the MUA games? It could be a toggle power. Basically, it sends you x feet in the direction you are facing if you tap jump while in the air.
I imagine the mutant pack power is already decided, but that would be a cool way to implement combat teleport. Maybe we could get it down the road as an additional power in the TP pool or in a new pool that houses new "combat travels" only.
I dunno, I don't see the need for a whole separate power here. I've had reasonable success using regular Teleport in combat, thanks to the lshift+lmouse bind. It's especially good for popping around those big multi-level office building rooms. If anything, I'd like the hover time to be cut, not increased, but then what I really dislike about it isn't that I'm hovering, it's that I'm unable to move. If you're, say, teleporting around with Hover turned on anyway, it's just irritating.

Combining tp foe and tp ally into tp other and then add a combat tp would get my vote.
Combat tp has to become no hover... high end (at least 2-3)... and max 20 in distance. Without any animation so the cast time would become not higher then 1 second... BUT interruptable or it would be to strong.

Two seconds is "hardly quick"? Okay. Clearly there are irreconcilably differing standards being applied here.

With sprint slotted for... Let me see... One +1 run speed SO, I'm seeing 23.98 mph, which is around 35.2 feet per second. So, with Teleport taking two seconds to animate, I can run over 70 feet. At least so the numbers say.
Numbers aside, I know that, for the time it takes me to puff up my chest and teleport, I can usually have simply RUN in and saved myself a wad of endurance. Teleportation useful in combat and, above all, COOL, needs to be INSTANT. Instant enough for it to activate simultaneous with the mouse click, or as close to it as ping would allow.
Teleport is fat. It costs to much, it delays too much and it just feels heavy, like trying to use Fly in melee, with all the drift and suppression. A sharper, faster, cleaner teleport would definitely be nice, even if it were capped at 10-20 feet per activation and several seconds' worth of recharge.

I like the idea. The TP pool is boring to me. It could really use a kick the ars.
Another idea, not to thread jack, but alternate animations for TPing. All those cool costume change animations would be great. It would add alot of interest if I could burst into a firey blaze, or a puff of smoke, or super nova, or super spin, have lightning strike me, or quickly rip open a black hole and leap through, or...well the ideas are endless.
Why don't you just go ahead and call it what you want it for: "PVP Teleport."

Because PvP isn't what I was thinking of when I imagined it.
What I was thinking of was being able to do short, quick teleports in between ranged attacks purely to look cool.
I added the bit about hovering, so that melee classes could have an alternative to getting Flight and Hover for aerial combat, as an afterthought, because it wouldn't mess with my idea and having a practical use other than just an awesomely stylish one may've attracted more support.
Obviously I was wrong since all's that's happened is a hundred people not reading my post and misunderstanding that THE HOVER PERIOD WAS INTENDED TO BE FULLY INTERRUPTABLE WITH ATTACKS OR OTHER TELEPORTS.
I don't understand. Really. Why go onto the forums and then not read the post you're replying to?
Like I said, our standards must differ. With the appropriate bind, it's quite instantaneous enough for me. In fact, combat, especially in a complicated multi-level room with a lot of fiddly staircases, is the only circumstance under which I find Teleport actually useful. It's certainly not much cop as a travel power, plodding along 200 yards at a time and encumbered with line-of-sight restrictions and the possibility of command lag causing a near-fatal fall. If it weren't for its tactical handiness it'd have no value to me at all.

I don't really want this power for its utility. I envision it being handy, but that's not why I want it. I want it because I want an INSTANT teleport. Not quick, not almost instant. INSTANT. To the frame instant. I want a teleport that's "blink" and you're there. Not gesture, posture, flash, appear, hover a while and THEN you're there. I want it to be as fast as stepping through a CoT portal.

Basically, for me it comes down to visuals. If something is intended to be instantaneous, if it's not instant, then it's not instantaneous, now is it? The reason I even bothered with this is because I got a good look at the Alchemist's teleport in Torchlight, which is about as instantaneous as it gets. When you cast it, you disappear in a big flash of light and reappear in a big flash of light somewhere else. The thing, though, is that as the light is flashing on you to disappear, simultaneously with that the light is flashing where you'll appear. There is no delay between starting the power and appearing at your destination. The disappearance and appearance aren't staggered, they are simultaneous. It's not after you're done disappearing, THEN you start to appear. You disappear and appear at the same time.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I would certainly consider taking on Teleport with a few charactrs if TP foe and friend were to be combined and the spare power slot replaced with a combat teleport.
I like the idea of it being similar to Sprint, but with it as a series of short teleports in the direction you go in. Perhaps give it a higher defense value compared to the other T1 combat travel toggles, at the expense of a higher end drain, or a longish recharge between toggling (or both?).
