Bug with jumping while shield displayed
oh ya I have noticed it you think jumping ir bad while the shield is out try flying it's a non stop studder
I thought the hover-stutter with the shield was fixed a patch or two ago. I wasn't aware of a problem with jumping. I'll have to give it a try.
bah, I just posted a duplicate of this...Ill delete it.
It started with todays patch and so far with testing it is only when the shield is in your hand.
and boy is it annoying.
FYI from the Release Notes thread on Test.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Also affects alternitive animations, if you have the other animations selected for SS they will not work when the shield is out, but if you put it down you get the othr animations back... just something to add to the bug
There is but one truth. Time is limited. ndnw its over
Thanks Texas Justice, I did a quick search but only saw Walk discussions.
My searchfu failed me.
This patch really should not have gone live without these animation bugs being squashed. Some might think them minor issues, but their just as minor as adding in the Walk power.. which seems to be the culprit oh these animation bugs..
*sigh*
<shelves Justice Forge until a fix is implemented>

I'd recommend sending BAB a PM about this thread as well to bring it to his attention.

Sweet mother this is annoying! Not only does my Shield Tank "stutter" while jumping, but he sounds like a whole troop of guys going "hut hut hut hut hut" all out of cadence.
Whatever happened to "if it ain't broken, don't fix it"?
Most likely, no one tested this on a Shield character or if they did they had the sound off. It's really something QA should have caught, but I refuse to comment on their QA department after HeroCon.
Or in a very likely possibility, if someone tested it and noticed the stuttering they didn't file a /bug report.
As far as "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" this was likely a side-effect of adding or fixing something else. They weren't fixing jumping Shield characters, but something else they fixed (or added) had a side-effect of causing this. Again, QA.

Yes...the act of fixing bugs can (and often does) cause other bugs...and with 6,241 moves in the player sequencers, I can't exactly check everything every time a change is made.
This particular bug was fixed about 2 hours after I found about it here on the forums.
I filed several bug reports, one on the hover-stutter, and another on the "walking on air" animation bug when descending from a jump. A lot of good that did..
..but you're right.. I did have my sound off while testing this stuff so I didn't catch the sound-loops.. I guess I assumed they hadn't managed to break everything..
Edit: Hey, look at that.. quoted and first after a red name.. without even trying.

Hopefully you've filed a /bug report on this, or it may not get fixed.

Also Thanks for the Update BAB

No. If you must know, these bugs were caused by fixing other bugs, which were caused by fixing other bugs, etc. I've honestly lost track of what iteration we're on now, but if we're getting into shield specific stuff, I think we're getting near the end of that particular noodle and it will hopefully be the last fallout from

Hopefully the emergency rollback will help until the "noodle" gets fully investigated.
Thanks BAB. I am sure your team is working on it. Thanks for taking the time to post and investigate what the community is saying about the issues. Hopefully we can all appreciate the complexity factor.

The Walk toggle is pretty isolated from the other things in this patch, so it's very likely that another incremental will be coming shortly that fixes the 'stability issues' but doesn't include any fixes for walking, jumping with shields, etc.
Anybody else have animation glitches while using Combat Jumping or Super Jump with a shield displayed?
I've narrowed it down to a problem with my shield being displayed but I don't have any other shield using characters to test it on.
Bug report submitted also.
