I'd love to play that game!

I love this game. I love my toons, I love kicking some mobs a**es, especially with a team, and especially with my 50s. Rerolling isn't my thing (even if I have many toons), and soloing isn't either.

Now, I'm an EU player. I'm a Vigilance player (you know, the french server, hidden behind Defiant and Union, near Zukunft, in the back). Nice server though, people are friendly, helpful...
But, last time we hit the "150 players connected" bar was... I don't know, maybe when I14 released (blueside only, but redside is worst). At the moment, it's 11PM local time, and there are 98 players blueside. I guess we won't get much higher for today. With that number of players, you may be able to find a PuG. Not at any level obviously, there might be one lvl 50 group, and a few others in other levels.
As I said, I love playing my 50s, and I really don't like being examplared. You know, I don't ask the impossible, I just want to play my 50s, with a lvl 50 team. I'm willing to take any toon I have just to find a lvl 50 team.
Too bad for me, the only lvl 50 team there is is full... Well, I'm gonna try to make a team. Too bad for me, the 5 others lvl 50s that are connected are busy doing whatever they're doing.... Well, I'm gonna try later today, or maybe tomorrow, or any other time. Too bad for me, if it isn't between 7PM and 12AM, population is around 20 players, and most of the time I'm the only lvl 50, and everyone busy soloing... That's kind of what happen when I want to play.
Just an anecdote that happened the other day, the whole redside teamed up together to defeat Jack, they were... 4. Yep, 4 players, the whole redside population at 10AM a Thursday.

Now tell me, explain me, how am I suppose to enjoy playing this game? I'm not asking for much, I just want a team, to play any of my 50s. I'd love to do an Hamidon Raid, to try and do some PvP and to run a PuG at any lvl at any hour... but I'm not even dreaming of this right now, I just want to play this game. Is that to much to ask for?
Oh yeah, I have some friends, I had a whole SG actually, they all left because they were in the same situation as I am right now. All saying "Hey... I might come back when GR comes out", so I'm not expecting seeing any of them before 6 months. And knowing them, they'll most likely come just to say "Hi", and then return to any MMO they went on.

I obviously already asked this question upon the french forum, asking whether NC had any plan to "help" players like me, that are leaving the game day after day just because they can't play the game they like. Official word is "No, nothing on schedule". Well... thanks anyway.
I know nobody will come here with a magic wand and help me, but I'd like to let everyone know, especially the ones that may be able to make things move for us (my friends and me), that where I play, people that actually like that game are leaving each and every day just because they can't play that game anymore.

This is kind of a "last hope" movement on my side. I truely love this game, this is for me the best MMO I've ever played, but I'd love it even more if I were actually able to play it, as I love, in the present.

I have absolutely no info on this - but I just have a feeling that the server lists will be merged for GR - give the American players 4 extra servers, and the Euro players 11 extra servers.

The forum merge went very smoothly - when dealing with name clashes, there were very few conflicts between names - so if they can work out a way of adding "NA" or "EU" to the global chat names, then that's a very big step towards fixing most of the problems of a merged server list.

I have the same problem but I do not think that server list (eu and na) will be merged.

If today I felt something (unufficially too) I renew the account lifetime, and includes two GR and a fishing rod for Positron
Unfortunately, no one says anything...

A few weeks ago I asked (for the 5th or 6th time) on the french board whether devs were willing to do something for us or not. Suggestions were server merge, server lists merge or account transfer. I got an answer from Avatea that exactly said "It's not on our agenda simply because it's not possible".
So yeah, that basically ruined most of my hopes about being able to play on a "real" server.
Now my question is what will NC do? Will they let the EU servers die slowly and painfully? (at least the non-UK ones) Or will they do something for their players?

I'd love to say myself "Ok, wait for GR, after that there will be a merge, and you'll be able to play one a server with 250 other players, it'll be fun!". But it seems that it won't happen anytime soon... I guess NC wants me to leave, and let things go...

Would love for the US and European servers to be better connected. Though I do find it strange that the AE server is across all the servers on either side of the Atlantic. Why can't they do that for the server selection?

Actually yes they have said officially (if you include questions at the comic con) that it's not possible to merge the non-english servers with the english ones. The client is formatted differently to accomodate the language difference. So whether we like it or not, or want it or not, unless they completely change the French and German server clients to fully English functionality, as I understand it, they cannot merge those.

I do wish that we COULD though.

Ideally they wouldn't merge the French server, they'd invest in promotion and add a few tens of thousands of French players.

I think there's 2 seperate issues here:

Low numbers due to a perceived language problem (ie only people with reasonable French can realistically take part in the French server) and the insistence on the part of some for calling for a server merge.

Personally I'm all in favour of universal server access - I would love to play on cross server teams. I've got some great friends in Second Life, for example, who play but we talk about teh game but can't ever team because... they're in North America.

However I would quit the game instantly if Defiant got closed down. Defiant's my home and it would be a logistical nightmare for the powers that be to shut down any servers (and send a very wrong signal to the game watching media.)

To allow everyone to play on whatever server they wish, that would partially fix it for many but I don't know how they could cure the two language problems other than heavily advertising in France and Germany and somehow I get the feeling that ain't gonna happen.

I would say that anyone on either Vigilance or Zukunft would be very welcome on Defiant which is pretty active recently - which maybe might go part of the way to improving some players game experience.
