PvP with an ill/rad?
Ill has some good burst potential. It can slot the placate proc and has confuse. These are some of the best things in pvp atm. While you can probably make a better toon it will do you just fine. If my second account was still active my ill rad would be a toon I would actually consider bringing to freedom.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

Hey, I couldnt find it anywhere on the forum and so I'll just ask. Ive got an Ill/rad that i love playing PVE and have a great time hunting badges on him. But I'd like to start trying for the PVP badges. Ive not seen anyone mention an ill/rad in a pvp setting and wondered if it's even possible. It doesnt seem like any of illusions pet powers really assist in pvp since the players are smart enough to ignore invincible pets. I run a build very similar to the one in the controller forums written by Local_man and its great for PVE. Just wanted to know if PVP is a possibility. Thanks for your input.

Any advice for Troller Epic Pool for an Ill/Stormie?
I'm thinking Ice Mastery as I really like the -rech aspects of ice Blast and snow storm. And Hibernate is always nice to have. Although indomitable will also looks promising in Psionic Mastery.

In PvP, PA's damage doesn't cause the opponent to heal back.
The arena rules were the same as a zone, so from what I've seen in PvP, their damage is real.
What you said earlier is neat to think about. If PA would cause someone to constantly heal back the damage, and Heal Decay would be in effect, it would mess them up terribly.
I'm with Roman on this...I don't think PA damage heals back. At least I never noticed it doing it. Spectral wounds damage does heal back from what I remember, but that power is such a joke to begin with, it doesn't even matter. You hit someone for a whopping 30 damage, and like 10 of it heals back...but it's totally irrelevant.
Yeah they took the heal back away from pa early on because ill/* were just wrecking **** all over the place on test when i13 came in. Spectral wounds still does but its not near as bad as pas, you were literally at the heal decay cap in seconds after it started healing back.
If doms ever get ill I would so roll one. Confuse + placate proc and a secondary that could thump out some damage and pa on top. They would probably be top tier dueling builds the second we could roll them.

an ill/electric dom would be so sick.
3 PA Pets and a Phantom, high damage from the secondary.. yeah.. that would be one toon that i'd actually bother to get to 50 and fully accolade.
hey even post dom elec nerf (remember when they made 100% sure posi's mind/nrg was the optimal dom build?), my fire/elec fares quite well.
Well, expect to see my Ill/Therm in zone in the upcoming days. I just hit 50 on him.

I really appreciate the feedback folks. So, the thing is, while ill/anything else would be ideal. my toon i was working on for badges and whatnot is an ill/rad. I just love it in PVE and am knocking out pve badges left and right. does /rad have an application in pvp? I figured the -def -res slow and -to hit from the rad series would help quite a bit in pvp while i could squeeze some decent dps if i went ill/rad/fire for more single target damage. Im not even sure how hard it is to get the pvp badges really. I mean technically if I wanted to make a badge hound I could go fire/em blaster and still pvp decently well. I'm not looking to dominate the pvp world or anything like that. I just really enjoy the shiney badges and know theres a ton for pvp to acquire. Is there a strategy to use when going with an ill/rad/fire? should i use a team for better results?
Ill/rad is extremely good for dueling with. Zone, not so much, but still does fine. My ill is one of my favorite toons to PvP with and even on my last PvP respec (still around late i13, gonna respec again soon) still does great in PvE for TFs and such. Psychic mastery was THE epic to have prior to i13, afterward its garbage IMO. If you are an aggressive PvPer and like to press your attack, grab stone mastery. I am VERY happy with it. You have a heal so you can match it to phase with great results. On the other hand if you are a bit more stand off ish and defensive go Ice. A bit less strategy involved in clicking Hiber and you leave yourself open to grab a few more primary powers. Either one would be a good choice, you will just get a better attack chain going with stone. Rad is not NEAR what it used to be, but still does really good especially in arena duels.
Thanks for the quick response! Duels would be fun. Yeah im not so sure about zone pvp until i know how to beat players. Been relying on phantom army to save me too long i guess. heh. So I guess ill start there! Thanks again!
