Corrupter's Blast Best to Worst
rad and sonic are both so much better than fire.
that list is garbage.
also at this point i'd put archery above fire in a team setting, but not above rad (figure out what i just did).
archery has an extremely high damage attack (blazing arrow), and a stun. during a spike, you stun, count and hit blazing arrow for a massive scourge. |
Maybe downgrade energy blast. There seems to be a lot of knockback IOs on the market these days...

Divine, you harp on Sonic's "long" root times when they are no worse than the vast majority of corr sets out there.
All of the corr blast tier ones are 1 sec cast time, with only gloom, fire blast and ice blast floating around 1 sec cast time. Every other tier two blast is 1.67 sec cast time. The only long'ish cast in sonic is Shout and that comes in at 2.67 (Long yeah) but not much longer than Rad's Cosmic Burst at 2.07.
Of the sonic corrs I know, most don't use shout very much since you can cycle through the tier 1 and tier 2 all day anyway. Sonic beats Rad hands down imo in all settings.
I'm bias against sonic...it's just very uncomfortable for me to play...i have a sonic/rad and a fire/rad....my fire runs circles around the sonic, don't know why....it just does...

* Stun as part of the attack chain
* Really fast-animating and fast-recharging tier 1 attack
* Extreme proc-ability
Personally, I've got Neutrino Bolt slotted with 4 procs on my Rad/Therm and once you get a target into Scourge range those procs really add up. I'm not going to debate whether Sonic is better, but I really do like the Rad.

Rad has three things going for it that Sonic doesn't have:

As far as Neutrino bolt goes, when I make my next Corr I'll be slotting just like I do on my PB (aka gleaming bolt) with 2 nucleolus and 4 damage procs (not a fan of the achille's heel proc.) The bottom line for me is the massive hits that can done thanks to the -res in sonic attacks which is great for all kinds of scenarios.

i say rad is a better 1v1, and zone set than sonic for sure.
in a team situation sonic is just beastly. having a stun you can spend slots on, on top of having a good secondary effect is really really nice.
countdown spikes with 1-2 stalkers, a blaster and a sonic hitting the stun makes it so bad spikes can kill good players.
after spec'ing my sonic/cold and trying it out in both KB and zone, i'll never roll any corr that is not sonic/* if the toon's intended for kickball.
lol this makes me wish i would have make a sonic/pain instead of a fire/pain.
And I didn't mean to bring this thread up. I was reading it and forgot it was old and accidentaly made a post.
@KoolVirus
Personally beleive that elec, although it's rated relatively high on the list, is good for more then divine gives it credit for. My elec/pain does very well, considering the pairing. Elec really puts off a nice amount of damage, considering everything, I would say slightly higher then fire. People don't think it, but Ball Lightning does considerable damage. Although its DoT's and end heavy, it fills the gap with some meaningful damage. Unless I am mistaken, it out damages fire easily.
I would still prolly vouch for sonic/rad/elec/(Fire or Energy)/lolrest.
the -def is also really really useful when you're running around RV and have to deal with MoGing regins every 2 mins.

I would trade my son pain for a rad pain. No lies. I just can not stand playing sonic blast for some reason.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

I want a sonic/therm but i see too many of those.
Or a sonic/sonic.
@KoolVirus
I like having not so common builds. Except for my dark/cold, i made it after Justin left and i was the only one.
@KoolVirus
