Farming for drops only
The level of the mobs doesn't affect the drop rate
(It does affect the drops themselves, so assumign you are thinking of -1x8 at 50, you get level 49 uncommons and rare recipes)
The rank of the mobs does affect it, bosses drop more often, then Lts then minions.
of course you can with AOE kill a lot of minions fast, which affects the recipes/time
@Catwhoorg "Rule of Three - Finale" Arc# 1984
@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
There was much Dark Astoria arguing about this, but the general conclusion was that enemies have to be green-con or better to drop anything (so -2 minions, -3 lieuts, -4 bosses.)
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.

Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
Yes it allows for purples the downside is all your pool A drops come in at 49

A question for you: What about a 45th level bots/traps mm who can handle the Cim wall (51+)? What setting would you suggest then? I've been running with a +2/2 for content but I'm not sure that's the best setting either.

I farm at -1x8 and only half my Pool A drops are 49 - Pool A's drop at the level of the enemy you are fighting, and I farm radio missions. Since I'm not on an outdoors map, half the enemies are 49s, the rest are 50s. A minor quibble, but worth being aware of.
@Roderick
Dark Astoria is a good place to farm from 20 to about 30. Besides the foes being tightly packed and doing mostly smash/lethal they drop magic salvage at the right level for you to make some good cash even on commons.

Although Banished are nice to fight, weak vs Lethal (strong vs Dark and Smashing though), happy to get into melee with you and I'm not sure if you can get Banished paper missions. Warriors are a decent alternative (Warriors tend to be my whipping boys in the 20s).
Thank you for your replies.
This is what I thought was the case, but it's nice to have some verification.
I am running my farmer @ +1 x8 but I think I could go up a notch or two, but I know that would slow me down somewhat. So I figured I should check and see if there was any reason to go up another notch or two.
I started @ -1 x8 but that just made me feel dirty (and not in a good way).

Does the lvl of the mobs have any effect on drop rate?
Or is the rank of the mob all that matters?
Just for drops, not for inf or xp.
