Like Thirty_Seven said, post a screenshot. Use /screenshotui 1 and then /screenshot, and you'll find the image in the "screenshots" folder under your COH folder. Upload it to PhotoBucket and post a link so we can see what you're talking about.

Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!
Random stuff to try:
1. Delete checksum.coh from your CoH directory and reboot the computer. Run the updater and let it reverify.
2. If the above doesn't fix it, issue in the chat/command line: /window_reset_all

I`ve done everything that has been mentioned. However, screenshot don`t show the text. Its not just chat text. I get it on Serve selection, & even on the ingame Menu to., & on mission breifings. It seems to only disrupt or blurr certian letters. May try to do a clean install.
If it's also on the server screen, then give us a picture of that. Here's how...
1) Go to the server selection screen.
2) Press [Print Scrn] on your keyboard. (Some keyboards might say [Print Screen])
3) Close the game and open up Windows Paint.
4) Click on the "Cut" tool, on the very top of the toolbar.
5) Right click anywhere on the canvas and click the "Paste" option.
That should give us a picture of the screen. Let us know if it works.

Oh my...that's...interesting.
I would recommend deleting the checksum file in your City Of Heroes directory and allow to re-verify the files. I'm assuming that this is only happening in City Of Heroes? If that's the case, clearly something is corrupt.

We'll see....
Already did the checksum thing. I unistalled CoH. & through the rest of it in the Recyle Bin & deleted it. Doing a Fresh install. Wish me luck. Let you all know how it goese.
Are you having a similar problem in other applications, or just CoX?
I'm tempted to blame this on a font file corruption, but if CoX is the only application having problems, then the font is getting corrupted after CoX gets a hold of it.
As was said, force a re-verify of files and see if that solves the problem.
You could try changing the default CoX font to something else. I'll hunt down the steps, perhaps someone has then on hand and can post them.
Edit: Okay, Here's the "Changing in-game font" guide.
Wow, that is strange indeed. It almost looks like some form of Greek that's been garbled up.
Yeah, let us know how the fresh install works. If that doesn't work, I'd try to contact support.

Did a fresh install still have the same problem. Also went back & tried disabling the second Monitor. Didnt do anything either.
This has happened to others before. Aggelakis suggests a solution in this thread, but the OP never reported back if it worked.
I remember older thread about this, but I don't remember how they were resolved and are probably lost to the forum purges.
edit: fixt link. Thanks TJ

This one should work.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
You could try changing the font using TweakCoH.
"I used to make diddly squat, but I've been with the company for 16 years and have had plenty of great raises. Now I just make squat" -- Me
Pediatric brain tumors are the #1 cause of cancer related deaths in children.
I`ve tried what you have suggested Texas Justice its still not working right. & TweakCoH doesent seem to do anything either.
I take that back TweakCoH has indeed changed my text. However, it is still distorted so there apparently another issue.
TweakXP from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx has a rebulid/repair icon function. Small free download so worth a try.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):

We'll see....
Another possibility is you are playing at a resolution which does not match the native resolution of your monitor. If that is the case the monitor will interpolate pixels on a flatscreen - this won't affect CRTs.
You can also get a similar effect on CRTs to your screenshots if the refresh rate is set too high - not sure if this also affects flatscreens
Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Good idea.
So try...
1. Windowed mode in the Menu/Options/Graphics Tab window for the resolution.
2. If the above doesn't work, try running the client in Safe Mode. If the distortion goes away, then it's one of the graphics settings that's the problem.

I just tried returning to CoH. However part of the text is unredable. & yes the text is in English. I`ve tried several different Screen Resolution settings & nothing works. I have a GeForce 9400 GT card with 1gb of video memory. & My drivers are up to date. I`m uisng two monitors. Both of which are Analog flatscreens.
Windows XP is the operation system. Intel Duo Core 2 processors 2.4ghz with 3.5 gig of Ram.
What can I do to fix this? Is any other information needed?
