Praetoian Loyalists! Report for Duty!
Popular opinion.
Currently, in Primal America, you cannot yell "Fire" in a crowded building unless there's a real fire. You cannot make death threats against others. You cannot leave sexually obscene messages to unwelcome parties. You cannot explicitly discuss sex to minors without written permission from their guardians. You cannot speak profanities on television without warnings, disclaimers, or observations of time slots. I can go on... |
But I'm also sure that the list of things that aren't allowed to be said is a little longer too

Edit: 'eh, why the not?
I'm actually rather confident that Death Threats are allowed in Praetoia, seeing as killing someone for their job is completely acceptable.
Of course, if Praetorian society is designed to remove the weak, that should mean the strong who are left don't need protection from Cole and his thugs, right?

Mother Mayhem protects you from your darkest thoughts. Justin Santclair helps protect those overseas by volunteering super powered beings in extended battles. Clockwork protect us from the dangers of day to day struggles...
Cole's entire plan is a veritable shield over us, and I will be one of the arms to hold it up.
No one needs protection FROM Cole. Cole protects others. That's what the Loyalists are all about!

On a somewhat unrelated note...
I wonder if knowledge of Cole's power and influence in Praetoria will somehow find it's way onto Primal Earth and throw the relatively pure intentions of the Statesman into doubt...
That said: Long live Emperor Cole, but I hope the Primal Cole gets smacked around by an angry mob who he can't defend himself against without looking REALLY bad.
Yes, I've heard there big on the old stiff arm stuff in Praetoria - especially for the saluting
|
Would you rather I go to the "Join the Resistance" and start mocking you all for being spineless do-gooder/do-nothings?
We get it. You enjoy being the goody-goody. Can't you just let us enjoy some honest villainy without the wretched slums for once? Evil + Sunshine = Better Game!
Go find yourself another Frenchman to double-entendre, OK?
There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
Honestly, aren't you getting tired of this?

I think I'm going to make a sorta "Glorious Godfrey" toon that hails from Preatoria to start spreading alittle of Emperor Cole's gospel.
You know telling the ppl of Paragon about how we Preatorians have no crime because our heroes actually protect everyone,a work force to do menial jobs, and other propaganda.
Sorta starting alil' "resistance" of dissatisfied citizens/heroes in Paragon,BUT,here's the thing about it.I'll finance commercials, billboards, rallies, parades, and other peaceful demonstrations to spread the word of Emperor Cole and how Paragon can become more like Preatoria.
Seeking ppl in political positions to help, business owners, and charity organizations.
Then with political support and possible laws changing have the PPD,Kheldian, military, and hero strike forces actually going in and wiping out cells of villains thereby protecting the citizenry.Something Statesman and rest of his impotent friends can't seem to do.
I wonder how Statesman would feel if laws are passed that come from Preatorian spokesmen?Him doing the work to make Paragon more like Preatoria....I like it.
All for the glory of the Emperor!

Yes because the election of government officials has never allowed greed, power-mongering, cronyism, and corruption to flourish.

If Tyrant was so sure of his popularity, he'd have an election to confirm it - it'd make the Resistance's job much harder if he had popular support - but for some reason, he seems to be election-shy

But it also allows them to be removed.

Real life =/= In game. Please don't bring that sort of comparison along GG. Especially not if your from the UK. Because in that case you DO deserve to be locked up in Arkham...
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

In Praetoia, the world enters such a state that people welcome and are initially grateful for Emporer Cole, I believe. Cole's first actions that put him in power were truly altruistic in intent.
Now, what he does to maintain that power is, of course, a radically different issue. The developer's have made it clear, however, that in the alternate universe where "Maybe I shouldn't..." has a quieter voice, science like Hamidon and Nuclear Weapons were reaching their full potential at an exponential rate. Cole's vision put a stop to that and did, in fact, "Save the world".
