LOL ummm...ME! cuz it's a game and I'm having fun with this toon...is that so wrong?

If I had a bunch of inf and was into all of the crazy AV stuff then I wouldn't do half of the stuff I did on this toon. I hope I can get into all of that someday but for now...just having fun doing PVE and some teaming here and there.

Notice I put one in brawl, which sounds stupid, (it may be) but I am getting +8% Regen out of it.

I am sitting at 21.xx hp/sec right now. Nothing to scoff at.

Yeah, because an extra 8% regen is sooo much more noticeable than an extra slot for run speed in quickness. If you're going to suggest he remove that slot for more useful purposes, I'd only do that for an extra defense or recharge boost or something. In the long run, 8% regen really isn't noticeable... I'd probably put it in something like Quickness for the sake of fun. Running around maps super-fast is super-fun. Unless there's something he wants to move around, and needs that slot for a better set bonus.

Don't mean to sound mean, sorry if I come across like that

Here is by Elec/SR build that I will be using once I can start leveling her up. The only IOs I still need to get are three more Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge and she will be complete.

Hope you can get some ideas from my build on how to boost your positional defense. My build is sitting at 47% melee, 47% ranged, 32% area of effect.

FYI - If you were to select Claws instead of Elec melee it would give you 44.5% melee, 44.5% ranged, and 31.2% area if effect. Not exactly the soft cap but if you were to take Maneuvers instead of Assault it would raise your defense to 46.7% melee, 46.7 ranged, and 33.6% area of effect.

Here is my build i made for my elec/sr. I like how he's pretty much softcapped, he is to melee, and is at 44.7 ranged and 44.1 to aoe, which in all fairness you'll never really notice the difference between actually reaching that extra .3% on the ranged and .9% on aoe. What i like about my build aside from the very high regen, is that it gets lightning clap, which granted isnt super ideal in all situations, but it is CERTAINLY fun hehe. Very cool sound it makes when you use it, plus its a good set mule for 2.5% recovery, 1.88% max hp, 6.25% recharge, and 3.13% defense to ranged, its actually quite a nice fit.

And for you Novella and the OP, here is my claw/SR build, all attack powers, no purples, capped to all 3 positional defenses, and fairly cheap outside of the LOTG and 2 regen uniques. "cheap" being operative to the levels you choose to use and base thinking of what is "cheap" on an "expensive" capped defense build. But definitely reasonable, and pretty darned near impossible to kill and fun! :P

Its not mean. Its not diplomatic either but hey, no pain no foul.

So its subjective. I feel 8% more regen is more important then running a little bit faster. you prefer to run faster. to each his own. But I wasn't telling him put it in brawl. just pointed out I found a spot for one slot. But is there a place to put a slot that would be better then in quickness? I am sure there is.

8% isn't all that bad. And I can see fussing that you don't like the technique he's going about to get it, which is all an economics issue, however, you're comparing combat readiness to commute convenience. It's comparing apples and shovels.

Aw sad sad day . Still a good build for the OP of this thread to look at. If i didn't have two claws scraps already i'd TOTALLY be doing the claws/sr, such rounded out uberness makes me tear not to run it. Had to go with fire/sr instead. Between my claw/regen adn claw/dark though i think i'd much prefer the claw/sr over them.

I was giving serious thought to a Claws/WP or Claws/Inv...I have 3 lvl 50 /WP's though...

The Claws set really snuck up on me...I was enjoying it the entire time but I didn't start loving it until I got in the 40's...

I'm nearly finished with my respec. I took it for a test drive last night...not even soft capped yet and WOW! I had a blast with him! Those Touch of Deaths are expensive! Still need 4 of them...(

Thanks again for all of your help...it really made a huge difference...and, it feels very Predatorish hehe

I'll try to post a few screenshots of the costume later...about to go out for the night.

I might need a bit more help with him...I think I overslotted for end recovery just a bit...

Here's where I'm at with the "Predator" toon.

I'm only missing about 3 pieces because they are all running around 30 million each and I just don't have that kind of inf. How the heck do you guys have so much cash?!?!?!? lol

While the combination of concept and function is working for me (mainly talking about Stealth here) to reach the soft cap, I'd still like to hit the cap w/out having to use Stealth.

I have to admit that even at this current state, I've had SO much fun with this toon and he has been able to endure some crazy stuff so far. I finally see why everyone speaks so highly of /SR. I've been a huge /WP fan for so long and now that I've seen how well a high lvl /SR works, I want to make /SR versions of my /WP toons! haha!

My newest concern is recharge. Not sure where I should start. I'm sitting at 30% right now. I know some things could be done differently but again, I just don't have that kind of cash. After all of this, I'm sitting on about 12 million but I have access to another 170 or so between all of my other toons. However, I was hoping to use some of that to either respec my Kat/WP or lvl up and slot a Kat/SR.

How can I begin to stack on some recharge while not completely breaking myself or losing any cap values? Or is it even possible?

I sell pretty much everything I get on WW. I do lots of TFs and story arcs as I'm leveling new characters and then buy recipe rolls in bulk. The most important thing is that I don't spend much money. I got all but a couple of the purples I needed by earning them (generally by spending any waiting time for TF/teams on the Cimeroran wall). I earned all of my LotGs and Numina procs.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong of if I just have the worst luck in the history of this game but in almost 2 years of playing, I've only received 3 purple drops...and I've done plenty of TF's and other crazy stuff. 2 of the 3 were on the same day...crazy.

If I'm running solo, where would I have the best chance of getting any worthwhile drops?

The secret to getting drops in CoX is quite simple: the law of large numbers. Kill enough enemies and even the RNG can't screw you over. Personally, I've found that +2/x6 generates the best inf/min for my DM/Regen (though I generally only do mishes for inf when the Cim wall is saturated with idiot Brutes that refuse to share and begin spawnstealing), though it may be completely different for you. All you really need to do is find an enemy group you enjoy fighting and a difficulty setting that lets you kill lots of stuff without slowing you down too much.

Running at x8 difficulty. I've had pretty good luck running scanner missions at +2/x8 although the +2 portion of that is irrelevant. Pound through them slaughtering everything in your path. Profit.

PvP farming is the way to go though. If you get 1 PvP recipe a day, you can easily hit the inf cap in a week. I made 400 million off of a single fury of the gladiator chance for dam-res debuff last night.
