The Hot Pencil - Quick Sketcher

Haha you guys are so evil! Well I do plan to participate here sometime...I just can't be arsed to take a picture of my pencil drawing and then plug it into my computer (seriously, my computer takes FOREVER to transfer images from my camera). But hopefully I will stop being so lazy soon.

Great pictures too, you guys! You both made her so pretty. CR, I really like the rotting-ness you gave her! Her face reminds me of the character from Corpse Bride. Big lips, so pretty...
And Caemgen I love yours! She looks so devilish. And yup, Cashoo is a total coffee fanatic. What an awesome addition. I want that mug IRL.

Also, hooray for Prisoners, Crey, and Freakshow! Some of the best villain groups! (then again, is there a villain group that isn't awesome?)

Your praise is too much for my humble efforts... But I'll take it I'm just glad I was able to not ruin her entirely. CR's though... That, in my opinion, deserves all the praise. I think he did a masterful job of capturing and blending both the beauty and morbid elements...

And while I am sure we would all love to see you partake of this thread, you have contibuted more than your fair share of arts already so you really shouldn't feel pressured at all... My answer to Eddy was just me being silly. There's really no conspiracy to turn you into our art slave, to get you to do our every artsy command... I swear... Honest!

As for non-awsome villian groups... My first thoughts would be Hellions or Skuls. Oh sure, they are grand for what they are but I don't think they rank up there with the rest for uber-coolness... But in the end I must say I never quite got many peoples fascination with the 5th Column. Maybe because I wasn't around before they first left? But meh... Whatever.

General Knowledge - I would have agreed with you on Malta when I first started encountering them but now the more I face them the more I enjoy them... At least so long as I remember to pick off the sappers first


Oh! On the mug... I take it then that you figured out the design was supposed to be your Jolly Roger skull? That was another thing I really should have left more room for.

Well I finally decided to give this a shot...5 minutes really gets the blood pumping lol. So I went ahead and did two, one for the sewers category (5 minutes with maybe a few seconds more for clean-up) and the second one for the catgirl category (I went over and did 20 minutes for this one, kill me ). So here they are.





OH, new category: Character Busts ...you know which kind - head, shoulders, and well, busts

Seriously people, the waters fine! Grab a pencil and jump on in. I'm living proof that skill is not required.

I couldn't sleep, so I did another quickie...I'm happy I got as much done as I could in the limit but...ouch, doesn't look that great. But that doesn't matter here so woot! Figured I'd do one for the favorite power category. Propel ftw.

Civilian -- Corner Pocket

nice to see you posting arts gray they are nice sketches. Im going to have to get in on this during the holidays for sure!

Oh the phone number, not at all I just chose a random assortment of numbers.

This also sort of represents how annoying civilians can be in Mayhem missions in the Rogue Isles. You can target civilians, even activate your powers on them, but it does absolutely nothing... There's been several times were I'm just clicking away because I got ambushed in the bank and I accidentely target a civilian, wasting a power in the process

Running around flipping through the air, heck even running backwards has a sweet animation.
About 13 minutes for this one... got a bit carried away.

Anyways....

In the category of Character Busts I humbly submit the following... I really tried to keep myself to the 5 minute limit but not sure how well I did since I didn't actually have a clock in sight...

I'm kind of disappointed I couldn't do a better job on this one but I decided I'm just going to blame the subject for not having better reference shots where I could find them!!






As for the category of Tag a Forumite I must admit I'm not sure just what kind of rules you're thinking of for it CR... Are we just supposed to "challenge" someone to do a sketch here and then they get to challenge someone else? Do we have to do a sketch somehow pertaining to the one we are tagging??

So, I decided to make up my own rules

I figure that in order to challenge someone you probably should have to do a sketch that pertains to them... Seems only fair. If you're going to taunt someone into participating there needs to be some kind of bait. I figure the guilt of someone slaving for hours and hours (assuming star trek code where hours equals minutes) over a sketch for them should be plenty to get them to do the same for someone else...

Or not

Anyway, I figured if your going to fish you may as well fish for a whale... Either that or I decided this forumite would never stumble across this thread anyway and thus your vague and confusing category can just end here

So, with all that build up... I figure it's time to tag a redname!

Cool that looks to be Amerikatt (sp?) and David Nakayama... I was thinking other posters on the forums (well technically David IS a forumite now ) but hey if you're gonna go, go big!
I've seen Amerikatt post pencil sketches before if memory serves and she would be puuurrfect for the Hot Pencil (bad puns already? and it's not even noon yet... gonna be one of those days ).

Personally I would be curious to see what DN could pull off in under 10 mins with just a pencil and none of those fancy shmancy Copics.
