The Hot Pencil - Quick Sketcher

As the winner of my little "Guess the USB contest" from the Pyro Custom Rig thread SnowGlobe here is your free artz.
For the category of Busts (heh) I present...

My monitor went dark right about the time I finished the sketch (which it does after 10 minutes of inactivity) and the smudging of the "background" (yeah it's just one big 30 second scribble and finger smear but this is quick sketch so I'm calling it a background nyah nyah ) and I then spent a minute or so with the eraser tip taking out little white circles to try and give the impression it's snowing lol. I'm going with about 11 and a half minutes on this one.

P.S. I was gonna draw the winter earmuffs on her but ran out of time heh.

Kind of suprised you missed the one, I did include Daybreaker Alpha's eyepiece, antenna and some of his markings...

The other I made way too small and that also meant no detail but it was intended to be Nekko... For some reason I always think of her as tiny, imp sized... But I'm guessing she probably should have been more Amerikatt sized...

Speaking off, I find the idea of a clash between Feral Kitty and Amerikatt highly entertaining... I think the visual could be way cool but I can also hear Ameri chastising Feral for giving cats a bad name and Feral responding quite colorfully in return... It could be a great mini-series!

I was actually going to "tag" you next and draw your avatar to encourage you to post a quick sketch but ya beat to it... that and your avatar won't sit still long enough for me to draw her.

Yeah on the whole time thing for me personally the hardest ones to keep close to 5 minutes are the busts (not those busts the head and shoulder kind ) or portrait types.
I think everyone that has tried a closeup face has gone over the 5 min by far even in other categories, whether it be Caem's DN or Grey's or Starwinds Catgurls it's probably the hardest to make yourself stop on, especially when it's going good and you think to yourself if I only had a few more minutes. Crestent is the only face sketch where I got close to 5 min on (if you subtract time for the lettering) but much of his face is covered and his hair is light and so didn't need much line work to show it.

Yeah my desire to see a face come out "right" always seems to win out (whether I'm consciously aware of it or not) over sticking to the time limit. So I'm kinda to the point where I try and keep it close to 10 min for a face and close to 5 for everything else but I do still force myself to keep the pencil moving fast as I can at all times, which is also hard to do on a face where I want to frequently stop and stare at it for a moment and "plan" my next lines, in the spirit of quick sketch.

Three things quick
1. You should pick a category you are drawing for (there are quite a few this could work for so you should have no problem with this).
2. You get to pick a new category going forward for other people to try out (keeps the thread going ).
3. Don't worry about being too lazy to ink... there is no inking in the hot pencil... it's a quick sketch thread for pencil drawings.

Give the original post a quick read if ya like and that will catch ya up.
The sketch is looking good, now just pick out a new category for the rest of us to try and welcome to the Hot Pencil.
