The Hot Pencil - Quick Sketcher

Ghost of Scrapyard is an actual Giant Monster in Sharkhead Isle. Usually has a swarm of protesters / rioters, oddly enough under the faction: Scrapyard, following him. This is more of a zone event than just a GM fight due to the oncoming swarm of mobs ( no matter how many of them you kill ) to help Mr. Ghost of Scrapyard, and the NPC commentary dialog that goes along with it (before, during and after the event/fight). I was thinking about the whole zone event rather than just the GM itself.

Yes I play both sides and lately more red then blue. >.<;

I choose "Trick-or-Treating" as a separate entity due to today being the holiday: Halloween, we can do it in game, and I can't get the picture of a duel wielding pistol blaster holding up unknown resident for 'tricking' them one too many times and not enough candy passing about. Yet, I thought it was also open enough for people to assume most of the other Halloween event items and such.

"Costume Contest" I see more as a opposite entity rather than including it in a Halloween event due to people purposely focus on putting on their best capes & masks to prove they are the best of the best. Not just to have fun and share a little entertainment; more competitive per se. Plus "CC's" are more centralized, such as you can find them in Atlas under the statue, or in Cap Au Diable under Aeon's Globe, and they happen year round, not just on a particular event / time. Plus it'll make a good follow-up picture after an "Icon" picture.

Up around his head and shoulder area is the level 30 aura Tendrils...
when set to pure black it makes it look like he is radiating darkness around him (cool effect ).

as for bunking a corpse... Well it would have to be more lively than my last girlfriend! Warmer too.

I know CR just did her but I'd actually been kicking the idea of trying for a bit. And since we're obviously in different leagues art wise it's not like one was going to show up the other or anything...

Besides, I focused less on the deadness aspect and more on the penchant for coffee! (Err, I think I recall her being nuts about coffee or something from her DA page... though I may have been dreaming that.)

Anyway... To be totally honest I must admit I cheated a bit n this one. While I didn't trace (ok, I did do a rough 10 second trace of the hands because hands suck to draw and if I hadn't they would have come out far, far worse) but I did lay the blank sheet over the referance and mark out the proper placement of eyes to nose to mouth... Sue me!

Even with the cheating there's still a bunch wrong here... I really needed to do more of the body to truly show the character I was trying to depict... The bat wing tiara thingy should have either been shrun small enough to fit in the pic or I should have left more room to include it... And of course all the other little things which inevitibly could be much improved But far be it for me to let a silly thing like lack of talent keep me from participating!!!




I actually rather like this one...

This started off really, really boring as just the Brickstown letters and mild attempt to make them look "bricky". Basically I was just trying to think what to sketch and did the letters to kill the time until I decided...

But then I decided they needed a little something more...

So then I added the prisoner sketch to it. It was a quick, easy little sketch that (by itself) probably fit into the proper time frame for this thread. Nothing amazing but I think it turned out alright...

But then the whole thing was lopsided...

Ok, so what else to throw in? I thought about more prisoners but figured that would be boring. Hmmm, Crey! Again, small, quick and easy sketches (probably took longer to find the reference pics) but they're recognizable for what they are supposed to be for the most part so I'm happy...

But then the whole bottom of the page was empty...

Ok, what to finish this off what?? I thought about the different villian groups in Bricks and of course there was mky favorite... This sketch is so so... I suppose I'm happy enough since it is recognizable (I hope) but at the same time work was coming to a close and I couldn't put too much time into it so it's a lot more rushed than I would have liked.

Anyway, you're not here for a blow by blow... All in all I'll just say I am almost tempted to actually rdo the Brickstown and put full effort into each aspect and make a proper collage with that as the basic layout....

But let's be realistic... I am far, far too lazy for that!
