On a more serious note, i meant how will the mechanics of the voting be dealt with. I guess anyone's eligible to vote, but is it going to be a secret ballot, or what? Is it going to be done by simply publicly voting thru a post in a thread, or a PM to Bubba, or what?

I plan on making it a public thread for voting. It will be ballot style with up to 5 arcs per category. I think I'll ask everyone to post their favorite and a runner up to try and encourage people to play as many of the arcs as they can and not just vote for who they nominated.

Airhead also asked how I was going to handle the judging, I figured I'd post it here instead of just PMing since it's not like it's secret knowledge or anything. If each judge could let me know how many arcs they would be able to play - remember I'm giving up to a 3 week window or so for judging, and you can also start as soon as you want to - as well as which categories they are most interested in, then I will split the categories up between the judges for them to play and judge. Categories with 5 or less arcs won't be judged, they will all go through to voting. Also arcs with 2 or more nominations will also automatically go through to voting. Each category will be judged by at least two people. And as soon as the arcs are judged, I will post the finalists in a thread here for voting.

Judges will not be judging any categories where they would be judging their own arcs.

OK... Here's the scoop. As I've mentioned before, I'm very time-challenged. I have a list of arcs a mile long I either feel I owe play time to or really need to play just based on what I've read in this forum. I honestly believe I'm unqualified to nominate any arcs for this award simply because my nominees - though all excellent arcs in their own right - almost get the nominations by default.

That said, I don't feel that it's fair to abstain given my level of participation in this forum and, more importantly, given the time others have spent reviewing and helping me improve "The Consequences of War." So, with apologies to all the fine arcs I haven't run that may be equally qualified, here are the nominations I'm willing to make for now, unless I find a time loop in the next 24 hours that lets me run some more:

Best TO Range Arc (1-15)

15+ Minute Tutorial - Knowledge is Power #28470 @Paula

Best DO Range Arc (15-25)

Cntrl + Alt + Reset #137561 @Bubbawheat

Best Comedy Arc

Captain Dynamic, the Great, faces the Great Face #190069 @Aehead

Best Short Arc (1-3 missions)

Celebrity Kidnapping #1388 @PW

Best Multi-Part Arc (2+ arcs, list all for this category)

The Audition Parts 1 - 3 and 4 - 6 #221240/221241 @MrCaptainMan

The SOLUS Foundation - a Liberty and Pinnacle SG

"The Consequences of War" - Arcs # 227331 and 241496

One last day before nominations are closed. I will be posting the voting thread (or threads) tomorrow around midnight Eastern time.

Question: should I make one post for all voting, or make a new thread for each category. I will be staggering the announcements of the finalists to allow fewer choices to have to play through at a time for voting(so someone wanting to play all the arcs before voting has 5-10 arcs to play instead of 40). I will be posting the categories with 5 or less nominations right away, then more categories as soon as the judges narrow them down.

Quick, before nominations close, I want to toss my hat into the ring for a couple arcs.

To ensure it gets into the finals, I'm going to second the nomination for...

Best Serious Arc:
Turg Fiction: Ghost in the Machine, Act I #1013 @Turgenev

And then, because I'm shocked this hasn't been added already, I'll nominate:

Best Multi-Part Arc:
Turg Fiction: Ghost in the Machine, Acts I and II (#1013 and ????)

(I can't add the second arc's number at the moment because this computer doesn't have CoH on it, and the arc's thread seems to have poofed. Am I allowed to nominate it anyway, since I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find the arc, given the information provided?)
