billing question

Hi guys,

I have had finincial problems recently, and i have to cancel both of my cov accounts. i'm canceling due to being jobless, not because of any issue i have with the game or devs.

What i'd like to know is if i cancel, do i loose my veteran status? i will probably only be gone a few months, then come back. can i come back to the same acct, with same pword? will i still have my toons? will i still have badges, accolades, enhancements, and infmay when i come back?

Is there anyway to just put things on "hold" account wise for a few months?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Z

I took a 6 month break. All my stuff was still here when I came back. You don't accrue vet time though, so if you have 30 months and come back 6 monthe later you wont get your 33 or 36 month badges and the things that come with them.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

You will have everything you left except maybe one exception below, and anything you leave on the market for more than 60 days. You will have all the vet rewards you already have, but won't gain more time for the time you are gone.

The one exception would be IF all the following happen:

You're gone for more than 90 days
You have characters under level 5
They decide to do a name purge

IF all three of those things happen, you may have some character names that become Unreserved. If someone decides to claim one of those open names, you lose it. If not, they become your's again when you pay. However name purges aren't common and are always announced ahead of time.

Make sure your account info is up to date before everything is cancelled. Make sure the email is up to date, make sure you write down all passwords in case you might forget while you're gone, and everything should be fine.

Hope the job search goes well and we see you back again soon.

Small quibble. This is no longer true. They made a formal announcement that there was a new policy in place that they could run it at any time with no warning or notice before or after the fact.

Take everything off the auction house too, if you're not sure how long you're going to be gone. Just to be safe.

Actually guys, this hasn't been the case since I14, when the "60-day rule" was removed.

I14 patch notes here.

That's for active accounts

Characters (on active accounts) who have inventories, bids or items for sale in the Black Market or in Wentworth's Consignment House will no longer have to log into the game within 60 days to avoid item or influence/infamy expiration.

That's for active accounts... It the OP takes a break.. they can still lose their items.. hence the useful advice to clear the market.

Edit:

note the bold. inactive accounts are still purged.

As the OP is cancelling his account (for an unknown period) the 60 day rule will apply if it takes longer than that to come back.

However, I do believe that it's 90 days and level 5 or lower.

Any changes to the qualifications would be announced prior to them being run.

So for the name purges, if the character is level 6 or more it's safe for now and any change in the "rules" of the purge will be announced, giving you notice.
