Tha evil twinzo00orz in Praetoria
I had always been under the impression Praetorian Earth was the evil goatee universe. It's kind of disappointing when I found out that Lord Recluse isn't going to be King Extrovert living in a city built on a shining hill that has rainbow bridges constructed by friendly leprechaun redcaps in Going Rogue and stuff.
I do wonder if Posi is going to take CO's Nemesis system and tweak on it, pitting you against the Praetorian you as your own nemesis. Except evil you has a goatee. Even the female models.
Would certainly going to be interesting considering one of my characters comes from Praetoria.
Her 'good version' exists on the European servers and has a completely different backstory to the Praetorian version. The good one was a product of genetic experimentation while the other was a mutant. Both of them Idolize 'their' version of Back Alley Brawler/Marauder. So one followed the path of hero and the other of villain.
In the virtueverse that good version never came to be due to the good versions all being linked to my "dimensionally unique" Mad scientist who is the reverse of everyone else and he's the only version in all dimensions to exist... stole the idea from GURPS which has that very thing as an advantage option.
Praetoria certainly isn't the evil goatee dimension - it's the evil pornstache dimension, as proven by Marauder (first below). BaBs has the goatee (second below), so maybe Primal Earth is the evil goatee dimension... I mean we know Statesman is a bit of a dictator, and Longbow look/act more like the henchmen of a supervillain than a peacekeeping force...
I thought I was above the shallowness of "goatees = evil", but when I made a claw/invul brute version of my L50 claw/wp scrapper this week I couldn't resist giving him a goatee... and cyborg parts... and a darker colour scheme... yes, I'm living the stereotypical dream - AND I LIKE IT!!
Many of my heroic characters on Defiant already have evil opposites on Union (in most cases the villains came first, and I made the heroic version later), so I'm already playing the alternate universe card - Praetoria will just add a lot of potential (confusion) for more alternate versions of my existing characters.
Mirror Universe Spock has much to answer for, not the least of which is an entire prog-rock band...

Wish we could make our evil clones like WCW did back in the 80's and 90's. I remember seeing Lex Luger as a hero with the big mullet. Soon as he turned heel, he cut his hair. Turned hero again and got another mullet. Screw goatees, give me mullets.
I have never really thought about what my main would be like as an evil version... much less what to name him. But, considering his backstory it would be really easy. Instead of him reacting to being bullied when younger in the way that he did (and becoming a champion of the powerless and bullied) he would simply become an oppressor to all those who could hurt others. Sorta like an overzealous protector. Then, I am sure he would get drunk on power and become what he hated.
On another note, I do have a character from Praetoria... my Huntsman [Agent Vermilion]. He is the Praetorian version of Viridian. Except he is now here on Primal Earth pretending to be evil so that he can report back to Longbow. It was an idea cooked up by Tina MacIntyre and Maria Jenkins when they found the Praetorian Viridian and Shadow Spider (Shadow Spider [aka Agent Tyrian] is played by my significant other). It would be odd if he went rogue... as then there would be two evil Viridians on Primal Earth... both of whom would be working for Arachnos.
The female character equivalent to the Evil Goatee is the Leather Catsuit. If your character is already in a Leather Catsuit, or something similarly form-fitting, then the evil equivalent will still be leather, but show a lot more skin. Just like if your male character already has a goatee, the evil counterpart will have long hair, and wear a lot of decorative spikes.

Sometimes, the worst evil in the world is that which you cannot see.
Spikes, leather, big scary costumes...too flashy. Give me a villain that looks completely average, and can't be separated from the masses. Someone utterly unassuming, and totally consumed by evil, capable of orchestrating destruction on a massive level.
Let's face it: the Joker kind of stands out in a crowd. Dexter, on the other hand, does not. Your Praetorian counterpart, if he or she wanted to be truly effective, wouldn't necessarily be some flashy ne'er-do-well in a costume. That individual might be someone in jeans and a t-shirt, working in a fast food chain, plotting the deaths of thousands.
If we don't get an archenemy system I'm cool with that, I'll just roll some alts on another server and probably never get around to playing em.
