Where's my ding?!
It's a bug. It's been reported. The devs know. They'll fix it when they figure out what's wrong and how to fix it. Its position on the priority list is completely unknown to us.
|
You're freaking out because someone with no more inside info than you or I said that they think it's probably low-priority.
|
All I'm saying is that I think it SHOULD be a priority. And I think I've given good reason why.
Somebody else has decided that my position is not valid, and has decided to press a debate on it.... despite the fact that, as you pointed out, they probably have no idea what level priority it is either. *shrug*

lol. Actually, I'm not "freaking out". I'm simply responding to the same somebody who has no idea what level priority it is but has decided to dispute my position that it should be a priority based on the inequality of gameplay that the bug presents.
|
I really want this bug fixed too. Unfortunately, priority isn't the only factor that detemines how long it takes to fix. Remember that 112431wwwwwwaaaa1111wwhorrible chat bug a few months ago? Hopefully, this one won't be as hard to ferret out the cause of.
@Roderick
FYI it does break gameplay when you are faceplanted and very close to leveling, as you don't even get the rez on lvl if you are ssk'd down!

What you're describing is something that people had to deal with FOR YEARS in this game. Most definitely NOT gamebreaking.
Any gamebreaking bugs would have been fixed by now.
That means that all bugs at this point are not considered gamebreaking. Applying the "gamebreaking" criteria is pointless.
Nevertheless, they are still bugs and should be addressed. I would assume then, that a new level of criteria would apply to determine which bugs get addressed first. I don't think anyone except a dev can say what those criteria are at this point....
But one might guess that at least one criteria could be "if enough folks complain about something" ... maybe.

No, I'm saying every time the game patches, the potential for game-breaking renews, and the bigger the patch, the bigger the chance for breakage.
Take a look at this.

For the record, neither I nor anyone else has made the claim that this bug is "gamebreaking". But rather that this is an extremely annoying bug that presents a certain level of inequality in gameplay and should get attention.
The argument that it shouldn't get attention because it's not "gamebreaking" is a strawman's argument, since all bugs at this point would not be considered "gamebreaking". If there were any "gamebreaking" bugs, there would have been some serious patching/rollback by now.
You seem to have fixated on persuing this as some sort of debate with me. I have no idea why. I've stated my opinion, given my reasons, and am not interested in engaging in this silliness any further.

Not really... I'm just pointing out you're coming at it wrong. Not getting insps when you're SSK'd down? Not really important in the grand scheme of things. Doesn't hurt the game.
Schismatrix's Hess example? Total game-breaker -- you basically can't complete Hess without GM intervention (sometimes multiple interventions) right now, until that fix goes live.

I suppose it all comes down to how extensively broken something is before it is labeled 'game-breaking.'
A bug that keeps one from completing a TF is game-breaking in the sense that that TF is uncompletable, and thus, broken. But it's not game-breaking in the sense that you have lots of other things to do and can level up to 50 without ever doing that TF, and thus, not game-breaking.
A bug where you can't stay logged in for five minutes, now *that* would be universally regarded as game-breaking.

It's irrelevant whether we lived without them before or not. One brand new shiney breaking an "older" shiney, does not make it okay.
If everyone lost the bonus equally, then your point might carry more weight. That is not the case. Some are getting the bonus if they're sk'd, others are not getting it if they're exemp'd. A level 40 sk'd to a lvl 45 gets their bonuses... another level 40 exemp'd to a lvl 35 does not get their bonuses. It's a question of the inequality that is the issue. |
I can't tell if you are joking or not, cause this sure doesn't seem to be something to get all up tight about. If you play on Pinnacle, and you level up, send me a tell and I'll run you over 1 of each large inspiration until this is fixed

missing the point completely...
but funny.
As I've already explained in this post, I'm not uptight about it. I'm just expressing my opinion and the reasons for it. My statements may be simple and straightforward but, rest assured, there is no nerdrage going on here.

I bugged this and got tips on the old SK system from the GMs, and finally a link to the Wiki pages for SK. They clearly hadn't been briefed on the SSK.
