Not sure what to call the ones without titles but after looking them over more closely the 1st and 4th are my favorites so far!
I also really like the one you did of a city (or some type of futuristic dwelling structure)
Really nice Starwind.
Thanks Snowjob, I appreciate it! I finally got the nerve to post some stuff!
And I be thankin' ye Captai...I mean thank you very much CR!
I haven't named the pieces, but if your're referencing the 1st and 4th in order from top down, I refer to both of them as Knighthawk. The one I colored in marker was my first approach to the character.
I wasnt sure if I should even include the space city at all, but I thought it was a little different from the norm. Quite honestly, in hind sight, I feel kinda silly that I posted so many. A few of each would have sufficed.

**misses pirate avatar already**
Ahem, nah I wouldn't worry about it too much for your first art posting in a long while I think we can slip it by just this once.
Just one or two pieces posted might work a bit better though as that way everyone is on the same page when talking about your work
and it's not so daunting for people who want to comment but don't know where to start.
Also titles or brief descriptions would help even if its just, Knighthawk #1 #2 and #3.
Speaking of which that's a cool looking character is it one of yours? What kind of powers does he have and was he made for CoH?
Hahaha, your art fire has been kindled!

Thanks again CR - Both versions of Knighthawk are designs of mine. #1 was old-school spandex, so I attempted to modernize him a bit more on version #2. He wasn't designed for CoX. My vision of him was more of a cosmic King Arthur with a blade that could cut through anything and generated a protective force field.

Those are very good
I'm learning to use Poser too - but drawing patterns is causing me problems
@Golden Girl
City of Heroes comics and artwork
You are so correct CR - (Sorry y'all), I went back and added a title for them all, except the Poser stuff - they have names built in

Hey ya never know if power proliferation gets crazy enough (or if someone spikes
Positron's coffee) we could get Broadsword/Forcefield scrappers lol.
You know something else occurs to me. You may have something of an untapped advantage in the artz. There are a few artists on here that combine 3-D modeling with 2-D drawing to achieve some pretty impressive stuff (BattleWraith/FD comes to mind and also Doug Schuler and a few others). Since you have some skill at both ever thought of combining them? Like use Poser to get positioning and placement and use digital drawing/painting to overcome the limits of 3D renders. Just a thought.

With a family, (3 kids and a baby on the way next month), I don't have money for all the bellz n' whistles for my Poser program or to invenst in new ones. Also, available time is always an issue, so I'm rather limited. Instead of buying the hero models, I "tried" to create them myself, so there are definite imperfections.
The work by BattleWraith/FD & Douglas Schuler is pro level stuff across the board, I could only "hope" to achieve that level of quality. I'm honored to even be remotely mentioned with them in the same paragraph. Maybe eventually, I can be a poor man's Douglas Schuler
You guys are definitley pumping me up to get back into my art though, I gotta tell you! And I appreciate it, it's been a long time!

I Really dig your work dude You have a style of your own which is to me the most important thing, the coloured work is way beyond what I've thought about! please keep posting and sharing!
P.S. get a Deviantart account so us fans can follow!
Thank you very much Temperus_EU! Very kind of you! I took a look at your DA stuff and I really admire your style as well!
After checking out your stuff, (and averyone elses that posts here), I finally decided to sign up on Deviant and it figures, Starwind is already taken That really bummed me out! I need to figure out what I wanna do because I really like the Starwind tag as a branding concept.
I can't beleive the timing on this, because an SG mate just pm'd me tonight to advise he went and purchased a domain name for me called starwindgraphics. It was unsolicited and I had no idea he was going to do this but man, it feels like stars are aligning some how Unfortunately, I don't know anything about html or stuff like that, so I'll need to educate myself now and see what I can do. You never know

When I see your drawings Starwind.....I can't help to think of Ralph Bakshi. Especially how you draw the women......I'm thinking more a long the lines of Fire & Ice, Wizards and Heavy Metal. And can't help but think of Fritz the Cat on your toon drawing....lol
Beautiful stuff.....would love to see more.
Thanks Monzaria!!
I own Fire and Ice, (on VHS). I have to try to find it on DVD. What a great animated movie, way ahead of its time for its day. I was big into emulating my favorite comic book artists - John Byrne, George Perez and Mike Grell.
Slik Jinx was the logo/character I created for my heavy metal band back in the 80's. My drummer suggested the name and I swear that image instantly popped into my brain. I was able to translate it very accurately to paper on a first attempt. I love that character

I don't think you can get fire and ice on dvd.....I only have it on vhs myslef.....Wizards on the other hand....I have that on dvd as well as lord of the rings. heavy metal I use to have but wound up "missing" after my divorce lol...
I agree especially with the live action he used in fighting and running scenes. One of the coolest movies he did was American Pop...don't have it but it's a must....then again there's Heavy Traffic......
80's Metal eh? What type? Death, thrash, glam??? Just curious

Seriously, though, I'm "self-taught" in HTML and PHP. As such, I'm never W3C compliant, and see no need to be. I'm of the opinion, "What makes them right?"
And now: Boring Story Time!
I made my first webpages using Netscape Navigator Gold's WYSIWYG editor. Not too long after, my compy died. A friend was putting a larger HDD in, and Pbbbbt! The compy came from the In-Laws when they got a new one. The Wife neglected to tell me it had been hit by lightning. Twice. >.<
My friend got me a Ye Olde 286. I came to know MS-DOS 6.22 very intimatly. On the plus side, I'm very comfortable with command line stuff...
Anyway, I had no choice. I had to do all my HTML editing "by hand". I used edit.com (because that's all DOS offered. It's a program, not a website.), and started learning what did what. Near the end of my time with that compy, I had found a graphical DOS-based browser named Arachne, and was able to see the intarwebs with graphics! Before, I'd been using LYNX, a text DOS-based browser, by dialing up to my local library's freenet. LYNX taught me the importance of including ALT text for images.
When I got a new compy, I continued to use edit.com to code webpages. Any time I saw something on a page that I liked, I'd view the source, find the code, copy it to my page, then edit it until I learned how to make it do what I wanted. I learned one VERY important lesson. It's the same lesson that my friend Shadow Ravenwolf learned a few years back in his college web programming class: Tables are EVIL! I don't care HOW perfect your code is, if the table doesn't want to do what you want it to do, it won't.
I picked up PHP and MySQL in the same way. An online friend coded his own message forum software, and I used a copy on my website. I made all kinds of modifications to it, including making it an RPG board. You'd earn money, buy items and equipment, and have random battles. I really loved it. Sadly, it did have security holes, and some jerk took advantage of them while I was on vacation last year. Oh well. I still have my knowledge.
End Boring Story!
So, yeah, just take it slow. Go at your own pace. Learn by looking at source code for other websites. And don't hesitate to ask me for help! I'll be more than happy to tell you, "I have NO idea how to do that!"

I used to draw for my own fun all the time, but as many of you know, life gets in the way and my art faded into the backround. It's been years since I've made time to pick up a pencil, but recently the wonderful work so many of you have provided, has inspired me and I've started sketching again.
I'm not schooled in illustration or art, so I know what I'm submitting is anotomically inaccurate and is no where near the impressive level of skillz so many of you have on these boards. With that said, I humbly submit some of my drawings and some attempts at digital art made with Poser and photoshop.
These drawings were hastily scanned from my sketch book a few years back so I apologize for the image quality. Oh, and if any of you want to color any of these, I would be honored
Drawing from a reference image...

Knighthawk #1

My first attempt at digitally coloring a sketch in photohop. Some may remember my posting this a while back...
Before...
Mirage
After, (no tablet - just a mouse)...
Some attempts at using Poser 4 w/costumes done in photoshop. Background art/photos by others. I just used them for backgrounds...
Anyway, I guess that's enough until I get my scanner hooked up! I appreciate anyone who made it to the bottom of this post! I hope to keep drawing again and get better!
Thanks all!
